The short answer: as early as possible!
Many B&Bs have a limited number of guest rooms, and popular weekends, summer, holiday periods and special events can book up well in advance. Planning ahead gives you the best selection!
That said, last-minute availability does sometimes exist, especially during quieter periods, so it's always worth reaching out directly a B&B to inquire!
