Learn To Curl - Open House - March 29, 2022
Curling is a great fun sport regardless of age and ability. Some in their 90’s are still stick curling. The game is known for its camaraderie and for lifelong friendships that have developed. Compared to many sports it is relatively inexpensive. Here is your chance to give it a try.

CurlManitoba LEARN TO CURL – FREE CLINICS
OPEN TO ALL – any age and skill level
Instruction in STICK CURLING also available
Equipment provided, just bring clean running shoes and warm comfortable clothing
Clinic times: 6:00 – 7:00 pm and 7:30 - 8:30 pm

Registration night for the Wednesday and Thursday night Open Leagues is:

Thursday, September 16th at 7:00pm

Alan Shaw from South Carolina popped by the club yesterday on a solo road trip to curl or throw rocks at as many rinks as possible. We were stop number 20! Congrats and good luck with the rest of your stops!

Tonight is registration night for our Wednesday and Thursday night open leagues. We're looking forward to another great season of curling. The bar will be open and the NFL season opener will be on the big screen. We hope to see everyone out. If you can't make it but would still like to curl, contact us at [email protected]

Congratulations to Team Jackson, 2018/19 club champions! L-R Lead Trevor Feltham, second Rick Forsyth, fifth Sylvia Stecy, skip Rod Jackson, and third Karl Kennedy. The team also won the grand aggregate title, and will represent the club at the Travellers championship in the fall.

Big congrats to team Thompson on winning the 2018 club championship! Great final game played by the squad of (L-R) lead Ted Laing, second Jason Grimstrup, third Cory Naharnie, and skip Kevin Thompson. Rounding out the six person team are Graham Grimes and Gord Boyer. The team will represent the club at the Winnipeg travellers club championship in the fall.

2018 Manitoba Open Bonspiel means Caesar contest! Ours is a tribute to our club manager's Ukrainian heritage, topped with a perogy, slice of garlic sausage, and a dill pickle for $5.25. Help us win with a trip to the club and a vote!

Manitoba Open *****VITERRA ELIGIBILITY: At the 16s of the 3 main events (ASHAM, FREE PRESS, NOTT AUTOCORP) any team awarded a berth must meet all eligibility requirements INCLUDING the Broom Morotorium.

One of our Saturday leagues is short a few players (not teams) and sent us this to post:

“The MDS mixed Curling League has spots for a few curlers. We’re searching for male or female curlers who are looking for a great mixture of fun and competition. We curl at 10:00 am on Saturday mornings at the Thistle Curling Club on Burnell St.

No need to bring a whole team, we’ll
place you on a team.

Fees are $150 for the whole season (20 games), and includes a ticket to the year end banquet.

Come on out - you’ll be glad you did!”

Thistle mens leagues - earlier start times for '17-18 season

Draw times will be changing for both Wednesday and Thursday mens leagues at the Thistle Curling Club for the 2017-18 season.

Wednesday (alternating draws): 5:45pm, 8:00pm

Thursday (alternating draws): 6:30pm, 8:45pm
