Your values + your desires = Living a created life!

You're tired of saying yes to others more than you say yes to yourself and know there's more to life than obligation. I show you how to flip that pattern, take back your energy and reclaim your dreams - day by day moving towards your desired future.

I’m bound by the beauty
I’m bound by desire
I’m bound to keep returning
I’m bound by the beauty of the light

WHAT TO DO WHEN NOTHING WORKS

I’ve started over so many times in the past ten years I’ve lost count.

A new plan, a fresh start. And then... life does its thing. Obligations. Distractions. Burnout.

All patterns that interrupted my commitment to myself.

For a long time I felt stuck in a shame spiral but it turns out I was just trying to solve the wrong problem and working with the wrong tools.

And then came two a-ha moments...

Most of those tools were built for a completely different time in life, and often, for a different gender.

And there’s a difference between starting over and starting now.

Starting over means going back to the beginning. Starting now means picking up exactly where you are — obligations, exhaustion, and whatever else is weighing you down.

That’s what I want to talk about on Wednesday, June 17 at noon CT.

“What to Do When Nothing Works” — is a free conversation about what else might be possible. No perfect starting point required.

Come if you’ve been there, or if you’re still there.
I promise you won’t be alone.

(See my before and after pics!) 😉

Some folks say, “Is it really that easy?” when I suggest asking yourself what you can do to feel better.

To that, I say: it’s not always easy, but it is simple. Humans tend to complicate it.

I was in a mood this morning.

I almost walked through a screen door, got a blister on my finger, and cut my foot.

Cue the pity party. But don’t worry, I kept it short.

Then I asked myself the question:

What can I do right now to feel better?

The answer was immediate: go outside and plant things.

So I did.

I got my hands in the dirt, repotted a few plants, and spent two hours outside in the sun and fresh air.

The thing I was upset about?

It’s still there.

But now it’s not draining my energy.

Life keeps life-ing, and you’ve got to figure out ways to feel better regardless of what comes your way.

It’s not always easy.

But it’s usually simple.

Making a promise to yourself is a rebellious act. It says, “I matter. My desire matters. I’m not waiting anymore.”

Imagine that for a moment.

Every time you keep a promise to yourself you interrupt the pattern that keeps you from putting yourself first.

But it’s not a quick fix and it’s not about results, although they do follow.

It’s about changing the rules you’ve been living by.

One promise, one day at a time.

I’ve been at my desk all day writing.

I’m old enough and know enough to have taken breaks during that time, including a lovely walk with my dog, Dudley.

But what stands out for me today is how much I want to say, write and share.

I’m not sure whether it was a moon phase or my horoscope, but something recently told me a dam was about to break, and my creativity (and a whole wack of other good things) would be unleashed.

I guess this is it. And I’m so grateful I could cry.

So, don’t give up.

Keep your desire front and centre.
In your heart, your mind and to-do list.
And keep going.

p.s. Do you see the secret message?

Acknowleding what you want isn’t self-indulgent or frivolous.

It’s an essential act that begins the process of bringing your desires to life.

It’s the part of you that’s still paying attention to what matters, what holds meaning for you — especially when everything else feels like maintenance.

Today is a good day to indulge your desire.

Buy flowers, eat delicious food, take a nap, turn your phone off, wear your pyjamas all day.

It doesn’t matter what you do.
It matters that you do it — for yourself.

I've spent most of my career asking women what they want.

And honestly, anyone who's spent years taking care of everyone else before themselves.

Likely because I've been asking myself the same question even longer. Makes sense, right?

And the number of people who actually know? Smaller than you'd expect.

Not because they're not smart — they're incredibly smart.

But because somewhere in the busyness and chaos of life (read: raising kids, holding careers together, keeping relationships alive, and managing everyone else's feelings)...

The answer to what do YOU want faded away; like being ghosted by your own desire.

I created The Promise Threshold for that woman who is basically me ten years ago when I was facing this myself.

And really, for anyone reading this who feels that same ache underneath the surface.

It's a free Facebook group — and yes, I know what most of us (myself included) think of free groups.

But for real, this group is an opportunity to ask meaningful questions — about what you want, what's been in the way, who you're becoming, and what you might be willing to commit to.

That's important because willingness is often more helpful than readiness.

I'm not your teacher so I won't be giving you homework.
I'm not a bro marketer so I won't be asking you to hustle.

I'm inviting you into an honest, unhurried conversation that most of us haven't had with ourselves in years.

If you've been needing a space like this, the Promise Threshold is the place to start.

Link in the comments.
Hope to see you there soon.

I’ve been at my desk most of the day so I’m taking a break to ask a couple of questions…

How did we first connect?
What do you remember most about our meeting?

As I update my work this year, it’s been fun looking back at all the iterations of it, as well as the amazing women I’ve met.

If you’re one of them, let’s see if our memories match!

p.s. My expression is me realizing how long I’ve been working as a coach!

Unofficially: since 1997 👀
Officially: since 2002 🏆

Someone recently asked what makes me stand out from the thousands of coaches out there.

And I had to think about it for a moment because it’s so easy to regurgitate what’s already been said.

So, here it is…

I’ve come through three significant dark nights of the soul that changed how I live my life and coach others. The most recent was a second midlife reckoning and it was a doozy.

This is important because I share my lived experience — not just years of training.

I have zero tolerance for bu****it and my people feel that in every conversation. They tell me it’s rare, and I finally own that.

And there’s so much BS in the coaching world.

Like it only takes 21 days to change a habit.

If you’re saying it — stop.
If you’re hearing it — run!

If you’ve tried to change something in your life and failed after three weeks, please know this…

You didn’t fail. That outdated myth failed.

I can acknowledge our humanity and call people out on their excuses. As a client once said, “She will kick your butt with love.”

That’s still one of my all time favourite comments from a client.

I have quite a few certifications as I’ve done a lot of training, but I don’t claim to be an expert and I don’t play the guru card.

And after twenty-five years, there’s a lot I no longer love about the coaching industry.

But what I do love is that it led me here, where I can say with certainty that you don’t need a cheerleader, expert or guru to create a life you love.

You need a human who’s walked the path — not just repeating theory to you.

You need someone who can hold the vision you have and give you her best to keep you from abandoning it.

That’s me. That’s my work.

And the best, most effective iteration of it returns this June.

We begin on the first day of summer, and I truly can’t wait to share the 100 Day Promise again.

P.S. I’ve been locked out of my Facebook account for the past two weeks so, if you have questions you can email me at [email protected]
