We recently completed work on a major reroute for the trails near Sydney NS. The old trail was very steep, loose underfoot and eroded. This new route will be more welcoming to newer hikers, and lower maintenance, while still offering enough of a climb for those looking for a bit of a work out. Bonus lake and waterfall views along the way!
This trail will be opening spring 2026.

This summer we were able to complete the second phase of construction, the boardwalks on River Run, a new 1.3km multi-use trail at Nine Mile River Trails.
We’re excited to see this trail finally open after doing the trail tread work last fall. With beautiful riverside views, this trail sure is a peaceful walk or bike ride for nature lovers.
Thanks Nine Mile River Trails Association for having us be involved in your continued trail developments!

We recently built a labyrinth in French Village. This is a trail for a slower, contemplative hike. Was a neat project to be involved with.

Looks like the Hemlocks in the Gorge are being treated and as a result the park will be closed
🚫 Gorge Park CLOSED: June 23–27 🚫
Please note: The Gorge Park will be fully closed from Monday, June 23rd to Friday, June 27th as part of our Eastern Hemlock Tree Conservation Project.
The Town of Kentville is applying targeted pesticides to help protect our Eastern Hemlock trees from the invasive Hemlock Woolly Adelgid — a pest that is rapidly killing these vital trees.
This temporary closure is necessary to safely complete the treatment and protect the health of the forest for generations to come.
