Woodstock Lawn Bowling Club

I would like to thank our sponsor the Woodstock Denture Clinic for sponsoring the ALS tournament on Thursday September 3 at Woodstock Lawn Bowling Club. The first Charity Event at the club. The Diane Luke 5th Memorial Bowl to End ALS happened with a spaghetti dinner at 5 p.m. and a lawn bowling tournament at 6:30. There were 14 teams participating. The bowlers started playing in the rain and then it stopped. They played 3x 8 end games it was open pairs. The Winners are Peter Mutter and Paul Mutter, second Ralph Heeney and Taylor Whittington-Heeney, third Kevin Barber and Sharon Godlewski, fourth Murray Bennewies and Meredith Bee and one game high Kory Kleinwacher and Karen Jackson. Congratulation to all the players that played in the night tournament.

On Tuesday September 2 and Wednesday September 3 the following club members help install the new plinth boards on the west green. These men worked in the heat both days. Thanks to Jim Roth, Fred Erickson, Brent Lindsay, Bob Neutel, Bob Buck, Steve James, Derek McKie, Nick Mullen, Carl McLean, Terry Hinch, Rick Vader for your hard work. I would like to thank Sue Roth and Barb Hinch on supplying the men snacks and lunches both day. Great job everyone.

The Professional Bowlers Association held their competition at the Woodstock Lawn Bowling Club on August 29 which was pairs and August 30 the bowlers played in the rain which was singles. I would like to thank the Woodstock Lawn Bowling club members that came out in the rain to jack set for the bowlers. Jake Masterson and Brad Tichbourne will play at a later date to see who the winner of the singles competition will be. The pairs that won was from Regina.

Congratulations Kody on winning Gold at the Canadian Men's single championship in Vancouver today.

The District 3 Mixed Pairs playdowns was held at the Woodstock Lawn Bowling Club.
