The SCHF is sad to share the news of the recent passing of Dave Alexander (1949-2025).
As a teacher and coach in Oxford County, Dave made a lasting impact on his students and athletes. He finished his teaching career at WCI and guided numerous teams to championship titles.
Dave was inducted into the 2017 SCHF as the coach of the 1991 Sr Boys BB and VB teams that won 🥈and 🥉at OFSAA, and in 2021 as the advisor for the 1999 Sr Boys VB team that won 🥈.
We will miss Dave and we send our condolences to his family and friends.

The 2006, 2007, and 2008 Jr Boys Basketball teams won TVRA and WOSSAA 🥇.
Under the knowledgeable coaching team of Brian Does and Christian Madamba, these players learned how to be champions, honing their skills and dominating opponents. In fact, the 2007 team was so strong their coaches searched for out-of-league competition who could challenge them.
Several team members went on to play on the 2008 Sr Boys OFSAA Antique Bronze medal team.
These three teams will be inducted on June 13 at 7:00pm.
Team members: Matt Benner, Chris Champeau, Charlie Harrison, Morgan Hart, Mark Hazeleger, Marty Hazeleger, Marshall Hill, Max Innes, Brian Longeway, Lucas Lorch, Duncan Robinson, Scott Rumble, Bob Thompson, Ethan Ziltener, Jack Beatty, Craig Miller, Patrick Parliament, Andrew Robinson, Branden Wilhelm, Josh Wyseman, Seth Ziltener, Evan DeGier, Quinn Gibson, Nate Hansen, Wes Lau, and Kyle Willmore

For the 2007-2008 Sr Boys Basketball team, the third time was the charm as they brought home the Antique Bronze medal at the OFSAA championships that year.
Coaches Chris Coyle and Eric Molinaro lead the team through an undefeated season that included TVRA/WOSSAA 🥇.
We will be inducting this well-deserving team and its coaches to the 2025 SCHF on June 13 at 7:00pm. Don’t miss it!

Matt Zilke, 2011-2016, Volleyball, Jr Hockey, Badminton, and Track & Field is our fifth individual inductee to the 2025 SCHF.
A talented all-round athlete, Matt was a member of the 2011 Jr Boys Volleyball team that won TVRA/WOSSAA 🥈. They followed this up with WOSSAA 🥇the next year.
But it was Matt’s ability to launch the javelin that he was most noted for, winning 2🥈and 1🥉at the OFSAA T&F championships. As a Sr Boy, he finished his Red Devil career with a best of 56.41m.
We will induct Matt, along with four other individuals and four teams on June 13 at 7:00pm. Please join us!

Our fourth SCHF individual inductee is Kyla Rodrigue, 2014-2020, Track & Field.
A student in the DE program, Kyla joined the track team as a sprinter and left everyone in her dust. Gifted with natural speed, Kyla dominated the Intellectually Challenged 100m event, from TVRA all the way to OFSAA.
By the time she graduated, Kyla was a 5-time TVRA/WOSSAA/OFSAA West Regional champion. At OFSAA, she won 2🥇and 3 🥈medals, setting the OFSAA record in 2015. Kyla’s TVRA/WOSSAA/OFSAA Regional records still stand today.
Kyla’s PB of 13.49 was recorded at her last OFSAA championship, just 2/10 of a second off of the meet record.
We are excited to be able to honour Kyla and all of her fellow inductees on June 13 at 7:00pm. Admission is free at the WCI auditorium.

Katy Magoffin is our third individual inductee to the 2025 SCHF.
From 2013-2017, Katy was an exceptional Red Devil playing Basketball, Hockey, and Badminton. But she soared to incredible heights in T&F as a pole vaulter, winning 3 OFSAA medals—1🥇, 1🥈, and 1🥉.
Katy’s collegiate career at Western University was equally impressive. As a member of three OUA 🥈and two USports 🥉teams, she also won one individual OUA 🥈and one USports 🥉. Katy’s collegiate best of 3.90m places her second on Western’s all-time list.
Join us on June 13 at 7:00pm in the WCI auditorium as we recognize this outstanding inductee.

Our second SCHF inductee is Wes Lau, 2007-2012, Volleyball, Basketball, and Badminton.
You could say that Wes “grew into” his outstanding volleyball and basketball skills during his years at WCI. Adding a full foot to his stature between grade 10 and 11 definitely helped his vertical at the net.
When Wes learned that Conestoga College didn’t have a basketball team, he devoted himself to the volleyball courts, earning MVP and AOY awards throughout his 5-year OCAA career, as well as CCAA All-Canadian status.
Don’t miss the induction of Wes Lau at the SCHF on June 13 at 7:00pm!

A standout volleyball and basketball player, Alix attended university in the US on a full athletic scholarship where she racked up some impressive volleyball stats. She played professionally for a brief time in Europe before injuries ended her career.
Join us on June 13 at 7:00pm in the WCI auditorium as we honour Alix and her fellow inductees.
