KAL Leisure Trust

This weekend we were lucky enough to attend Forget Me Not Children's Hospice's Colour Run and talk to members of the public about everything we offer, including the Yeah Days Out family attractions! The sunny weather wasn't too bad either ☀️

Our Colour Run is TOMORROW! 😍🌈🌞😎

We hope all our participants are excited and ready to go! Here's our 24-hour countdown checklist!

1️⃣ Share your fundraising page for a final push on sponsorship! Did you know that if every participant raised just £20, we would raise nearly £20,000? If you haven't started your fundraising yet, it's not too late - you could simply add a donation option to a Facebook post!

2️⃣ Dress appropriately for the weather! We're expecting a warm and dry day - perfect Colour Run conditions. We highly recommend sunglasses to protect your eyes from the colored powder. Don't worry, we will have plenty for sale at our merchandise stall.

3️⃣ Remember to park considerately of the neighbors. There's plenty of on-street parking available around the park.

4️⃣ Arrival is anytime from 11 am. Be sure to head straight to the registration tent to collect your t-shirt.

5️⃣ Be ready to start the race at 1:30 pm!

And that's it! Don't forget that we have a host of stalls on-site, including German sausages, baked goods, games, and activities. So remember to bring your pennies - as all the stalls will be supporting Forget Me Not by donating a percentage of their sales.

Not taking part? We'd still love you to join us! Spectators and passers-by are encouraged to come visit the stalls and enjoy the spectacle too. And you can sign up to participate on the day, up until 1.25 pm!

Calling all craft makers 📣

Join us at Colne Valley Leisure Centre open weekend on April 29th, featuring a craft fair with a range of independent traders.

We're looking for craft makers who produce handmade items; any small businesses are welcome and all we ask is a small donation to Forget Me Not Children's Hospice.

Do you currently have swimming lessons with KAL? We're looking for people that take part in the following filmed sessions...

- Pre-school swimming lessons (0 - 3 years)
- Stages 1 - 7 swimming lessons
- Alpha swimming lessons

We're also looking for inspiring case studies of our swimmers - Do you have a fantastic story to share whilst swimming with KAL?

Perhaps your child learnt to swim just in time for their summer holiday, or maybe KAL swimming lessons gave your child the head start they needed for swimming lessons in school.

We’re looking for people to take part in an upcoming project, which will see members and non-members feature in photos showcasing all that KAL has to offer.

As a thank you for taking part, you can expect to receive a month’s free membership or a free family ticket to a Yeah! Days Out attraction 🎉

Volunteers would need to be available for selected sessions on 20th March 2023 between 9am and 5pm.

Sessions may take place in the gym, in the pool or in a fitness class.

The Snowdogs trail is coming to end! 🐕

As plans are finalised for the sculpture de-install on Monday 7th November 2022, The Kirkwood is still in need of volunteers to help get the Snowdogs off the streets!

Support volunteers will be required to act as banksmen, keeping members of the public away from the de-install and engaging with members of the public who may be curious about what is happening!

The role will be a fantastic opportunity to see behind the scenes of the trail, as well as having fun and working with the de-install team.
Volunteers will be needed from 9am – approx. 2.30pm (this time may be earlier depending on which area you are working in) on Monday 7th November.
