Whenever I'm out for the day.. going around pubs, etc...

I always people watch...and I have to say because I've been in sobriety for a long time now...it does get difficult to see who's drunk or not... it's like I'm more resistant to drunken folk around me... It's not as sensitive... and this is purely because I've gotten used to it..it really does happen in long-term sobriety....

In early sobriety, in social settings, it felt so full on... like everyone around me was paralytic, loud, .. I was so touchy ... Everything felt so magnified...

However, there was some who was...let's say boloxed!...loud, slurring, falling over, being a right pain....but as I looked at them...the only thought I had was...i was like that...no...i was worse than that...!

It doesn't look good....I wasn't judging in the slightest... but it really doesn't look good...and then I thought... a legal mind-altering drug has made them that way... wobbling all over the place.. being aggressive... looking out of control...

I'm pretty certain if they were just on any other drug...no alcohol...they would not have looked like that...far from it...

For anyone out there not going out out....because of other drunken people... I get it...protect your sobriety at all costs...all I'm saying is...it is doable...you do get used to it...you can have just as much fun...in fact more...and present...and believe me...you do look soooooo much better...I know I did...

I'd rather make sh*tty bad decisions sober...rather than when I was drunk...

Some of the decisions and promises I made drunk could be utterly ridiculous, fantasised, just utter rubbish...and could be at times dangerous...especially the spontaneous ones...literally life risking....

Now when i make a bad decision..(which is very rare 🤣)....at least I've done it fully present and not influenced by drink...nobody can say...were you pi**ed?...and use it against me...and try to make themselves look big....and try to embarrass me...

All decisions good or bad...are with a clear head...fully present and confident...I thank sobriety for that...
