Nationals Recap: Youth Elite Males 🏃🏽‍♂️

Our youth boys were our largest group, and made up 15% of their field this year… and boy did they put on a show! It has been so rewarding watching this group get the results they have worked so hard for this season. We can’t wait to see this momentum continue and build upon for years to come!

Some stand-out performances include:

🥉 Jonathan Peri had a phenomenal race with a sprint finish to secure the third spot on the podium! After a long season, his hard work paid off right when it mattered. He finishes his youth elite career ranked 10th in the series as he heads to juniors next season.

💥 Jaxson Neukirch finished off an amazing second year finishing 21st in the series (up from 57th last year) and proving that consistency is key! He managed to collect a handful of top 10’s on the run and swim this season and has developed as an extremely well-rounded athlete. He will sure be one to watch next season!

🏃🏽‍♂️Grayson Ott pieced together one of the best races of his youth elite career this past weekend. He finished out the season ranked 24th in the series, compared to 62nd just last season. The future is looking bright for this one, and we’re excited to see what the next few years have in store!

Nationals Recap: Youth Elite Females 🏊🏼‍♀️

This energetic bunch continues to amaze us with their hard work and determination! They continued to show up this season, get out of their comfort zones, face their fears, and race their hearts out. We couldn’t be more proud of them and the energy they bring to this team!

Some stand-out performances include:

🏊🏼‍♀️ Mia Johnson (11th) started the day with a strong 3rd out of the water and fought to hang with to top girls from the start. In her first year in the youth elite field, she has proved she belongs at the top, and we’re excited to see what next year has in store for her!

🚴🏼‍♀️ Rebecca Halsall (12th) finished the day with the fastest bike split in the field. She has made significant improvement across the board from last season and it has been so fun watching her grow in her skills and confidence this year!

🏃🏽‍♀️Aubrey Hammer had a blazing run with the 16th fastest split in this field. In her second year of racing youth elite, her improvements this past season have been substantial and we know she’s just getting started!

Nationals Recap: Junior Elite Males 🏊🏼‍♂️

After some weather rolled in during the swim, and an interesting restart to the race, the boys handled it well and put together a great race!

🏊🏼‍♂️ Ryley Clough finished the season ranked 27th in the series, after a consistent year of hard work. He has been coming out of the water at the front of the race, and battling it out on the bike and run with this strong field. We’re excited to see him continue to excel over the coming years!

👏 Jonas Hine finished up his first year in the junior elite field. This season was one of growth and learning and we’re excited to watch him come back even stronger next year!

Nationals Recap: Junior Elite Females 🏃🏽‍♀️

Lining up against the best junior elites in the country, this group proved they can race right alongside them. It has been an incredible season of breakthroughs and growth for these girls… and they are just getting started!

Some standout performances include:

💥 Julia Rodney (8th) had the 7th fastest run in the field and finished in her highest placement ever in her junior elite career. Her hard work this season paid off big time as she trusted the process and continued to balance high school running and triathlon.

🏃🏽‍♀️ Angelica Hil (11th) finished with the 2nd fastest run in the field, and finishing the season ranked 7th in the series. After an unfortunate bike crash earlier in the week, this race maybe wasn’t what it could have been at 100%, but impressive nonetheless! Angelica has also had tremendous success balancing high school running and triathlon training and we’re thrilled to haven seen the pieces come together this season!

🚴🏼‍♀️ Elena Johnson finished off a great first year in the junior elite field finishing 16th in the series ranking. Coming into the season with a strong swim/bike duo, this year’s goal was all about working on the run. She is building her way up to being an extremely well-rounded athlete and we can’t wait to see what the next few years hold for her!

That’s a wrap on the 2026 season 🔥

This past weekend, we had over 60 athletes racing across the elite and age group races at USAT Youth and Junior National Championships… one of our biggest teams we’ve ever had!

We walked away with not only some outstanding performances, but a rewarding end to the season for so many of these kids who have put so much time and effort to get the results they so deserved.

We are so proud of every athlete who showed up this season through the wins, the hard days, and everything in between. This year, we’ve gotten to watch nervous beginners turn into confident racers, we’ve seen leaps of development from athletes with lofty goals, and we’ve had the privilege of helping so many new athletes find a love for the sport of triathlon.

Our 2026 National Team! 🔥

This year, we’re headed to West Chester, Ohio with one of the biggest teams we’ve had in years… 63 kids racing, including 33 elite qualifiers and 30 in the age group race.

Over the past few seasons, we have watched this team grow exponentially, in part due to hosting local events that give kids a place to start, strengthening the pipeline from our youth age group program to our elite team, and the incredible generosity of families and individuals who’ve donated equipment to make sure cost is never the reason a kid can’t race.

We couldn’t be more proud of every athlete who toed the line this season. Beyond the highlights you’ve seen over the past few days, there have been just as many impressive wins from first-year athletes who’ve completely transformed since their very first practice.

This weekend, we can’t wait to watch this crew chase their goals and see all their hard work pay off! 🙌

Angelica Hil heads to nationals ranked 5th in the series 🥳

Coming off of an incredible cross country and track season, Angelica came into the season ready to show this field what she’s made of. She kicked off her trip season at Pleasant Prairie with the fastest run of the day in a blazing 17:56 and finishing 5th. She then went on to grab her first overall win at Jenny Lee with an impressive sprint finish at the line. She secured another top 10 at Flatlands with a 6th place finish and 4th fastest run of the day.

Angelica is also one of the recipients of the Gwen Jorgenson Scholarship Fund this year, which was created to help break down barriers of the sport for the next generation of triathletes.

As we head into nationals this week, we’re excited to watch Angelica fight for a spot at the top… 👀

In her first year in junior elites, Elena has been proved she can race at the front of the field💥

She has consistently come out of the swim in the front pack, putting her in the mix on the bike, and running toward two top 10 finishes this year at Texas (8th) and Flatlands (9th). This year has been a year of growth, testing different race tactics, and learning the ropes of racing in this field.

With her rookie year of junior elite racing under her belt, she’s made a name for herself as one to watch over the coming years! 👀

This year has been a standout year for Whitney Estabrook 🔥

Heading into nationals ranked 25th in the series, she not only jumped up from 21 rankings since last season, but finally cracked a top 20 place at Pleasant Prairie this year. Her hard work on the swim over the last few years has showed, shaving off minutes from her swim time and getting into those chase bike packs.

We wish Whitney all the best as she continues her academic and athletic career with North Central College Triathlon and North Central College Women's XC/Track and Field this fall!
