👉 Tell us who you are through a visual.
That was the prompt for our new Slack community’s first-ever creative competition.
took home the top prize with this standout submission. Read her entry below:
“As a proud photo hoarder, this was the perfect opportunity to christen my junk journal.
Flipping through the photos that have been collecting virtual dust in my phone for years and years was incredibly nostalgic and cathartic. Reliving memories, feeling the bursts of joy from moments frozen in time made me sentimental (a surprise to no one who knows me).
As a working creative, you often forget to create for joy. Create for you.
Taking the time for myself, working with my hands, carefully and intentionally cutting out and organizing my life in pieces reminded me why I became an artist. I love creating. I love reminiscing. I love having the unique ability to freeze time, to preserve my life in a way that is so special & unique to me.
These photos mean nothing to anybody else, but to me they’re everything. They are my life. They are me.
This project’s end result is the most accurate visual depiction of myself that has ever existed.” ❤️👏
