Ronnie Coleman was known for his intense lifestyle, both inside and outside the gym. To stay hydrated, he reportedly drank around two to three gallons of water every day. His training environment made this even more important, as his gym had no air conditioning and temperatures could sometimes reach nearly 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

But Coleman’s demanding routine did not end after his workouts. He also worked for the police department, where he spent long hours wearing a heavy vest. By the end of his shifts, he was often completely drenched in sweat.

With extreme heat, hard training, and physically demanding police work, staying hydrated became a major part of his daily routine. Drinking large amounts of water helped him deal with the constant sweating and demanding conditions he faced. Whether he was training for bodybuilding competitions or working his job, Coleman understood the importance of keeping his body hydrated throughout the day.

Samson Dauda looking absolutely insane at 9 weeks out from the Olympia!

SHAWN RAY:
If Derek Lunsford wins the Arnold Classic by defeating Samson Dauda—an opponent he has already beaten before—it would not be surprising. Derek has all the tools to take the victory and has elevated his preparation. His precision, dedication, and work ethic make him one of the most focused athletes in the lineup. His target is sharper conditioning, while Samson must avoid appearing overly full, since excessive size combined with his darker complexion can lessen muscle separation under stage lighting. The spotlight is on Derek as he looks to reaffirm his place among bodybuilding’s elite.

Derek Lunsford expressed frustration with how media and fans often overlook the reigning champion. While people focused on Samson Dauda and Andrew Jacked at the Pittsburgh Pro, Lunsford pointed out that he was the current Mr. Olympia, yet many narratives ignored him.

He explained that it’s common in bodybuilding for attention to shift to who’s “hot” at the moment. “People only care about what’s happening now,” he said. Derek stressed that true champions focus on their own work, not hype or opinions.

Lunsford said that while social media narratives are loud, they don’t change results. His message was clear: being the reigning champion isn’t about being talked about; it’s about showing up prepared and performing when it matters most. He remains determined to defend his title with focus and discipline.

"To beat nick you just need size you need conditioning you need symmetry & shape the one thing nick cannot bring the one thing that of all the boxes nick shape is at like 40% while everybody else's can be like higher that's why nick loses and it's going to happen every time as long as someone carries enough mass conditioning a cemetery all is going to happen that's what i believe is going to happen to tampa because i have just enough of everything to be able to beat a freak factor like nick."
