The Elite16 season came to an end with the tournament in Montréal 🇨🇦 last Sunday. Thamela/Victoria and Mol/Sørum claimed the victory 💪.

“But Gstaad was different from any tournament we had played before. Of course, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking, but what really struck me was the atmosphere. It felt intimate and big at the same time. The crowd is close to the court, the setting is unique, and you truly feel that beach volleyball is celebrated there.”
Katja Stam concludes, reminiscing thoughtfully, “From the first moment, I felt like this was a place every player wants to compete.”

“Winning at Gstaad and walking away with the coveted cowbell is incredibly special — it’s certainly one of the most sought-after prizes on tour. That first championship meant so much to us.”

Kristen Cruz describes some other important details which make such experiences stand out on the pro circuit.

“Walking down the street after the podium celebration, ringing the bell, and hearing the applause from the crowd is unlike anything else. The entire village embraces the moment, and you truly feel the history and prestige of the event.”

“The crowd in Gstaad is definitely one of the best in the world. What makes them special is their genuine love for the sport: they support great volleyball regardless of which team is playing. That creates an incredible energy on court, where you feel both challenged and motivated.” So explains Ahmed Tijan. “One of my most memorable moments there was playing in front of a packed stadium where the atmosphere felt electric from start to finish.”
He concludes, “Those are the moments that stay with you as an athlete.”
