Let’s begin the second week of training with another African team!

Yesterday, the September Seychelles Sailing Center joined SSL Team Libya and SSL Team Tanzania at the training center 🇸🇨💪🏼

After a long journey for some of the sailors, the team had the chance to get familiar with the boats, coaches, and the training center before heading out on the water for the first time.

For some sailors, it was a particularly special day: many of them will be experiencing sailing for the very first time this week. It was the beginning of a new challenge, new experiences.

🚨 As a reminder, throughout September, SSL is hosting training sessions for emerging sailing nations from across Africa.

The main goal of the project is to support emerging sailing nations and help develop the sport across Africa. By developing sailing on every continent, SSL aims to grow a global sailing community and bring more nations together on the racecourse.

The second week is just getting started — and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s ahead! 🌊⛵

After only a few days on the water, the feeling is already clear: the experience is both exciting and challenging.

“I say exciting and challenging. Exciting because it is the first time that we were there with 10 young sailors. Challenging because we have a lot of things to learn.”

Yesterday, we were onboard with the SSL Team Madagascar — and what a day it was! 🌊⛵️

The emotions were high, the wind was strong, and once again we had around 20 knots on the water. 💨 Luckily, the sun came out and made the conditions even more spectacular. ☀️

We had two training sessions:
🔹 Before noon — we focused on technique and sharpening the details.
🔹 In the afternoon —it was time for an around-the-island race! 🏁

For SSL Team Senegal, the training camp in Seychelles marks the beginning of a new chapter‼️

With 10 young sailors coming from different sailing backgrounds, the team is discovering a completely new challenge: moving from individual sailing to working together as one crew.

As part of the SSL Team Community, Senegal is taking its first steps towards building a team capable of competing at the highest level, with future SSL Gold Cup editions and the African continental qualifiers in sight.

Day 3 of training in Seychelles 🌊⛵️

Another day of training for our sailors from Senegal and Madagascar during the SSL training camp in Seychelles.

Today was a real challenge! The sailors went out for one training session, with more than 20 knots of wind, strong rain and very tough conditions. 🌬️🌧️

It was not an easy day, but these are the conditions that make sailors stronger. 💪 Every session brings more experience, confidence and teamwork.

Day 3 is now complete, and everyone is happy with the progress so far. We are learning, improving and enjoying every moment on the water.

Three days done — more to come! 🇸🇳 🇲🇬 🇸🇨⛵️
