At just 26, Spain’s Álvaro Romero Camacho has already made his mark on the XC scene. His winning formula? Consistency, quality flying and a passion for adapting to whatever the task brings! 🙌🏼

From starting to fly at 14 to competing in 50+ FAI XC events, Álvaro’s journey is only getting started.

Day 3 tested patience before the competition flying resumed 👀

Strong winds higher up kept pilots on the ground earlier on the Day 3 of 27th FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championship & 15th FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championship at Fayence-Tourrettes Airfield in Fayence, France.

The renowned gliding centre, set in the Var region of south-east France, is providing a spectacular backdrop for the World Championships! 🇫🇷

In glider aerobatics, conditions matter hugely, pilots need enough control over speed, position and energy to complete demanding sequences safely and precisely.

Conditions improved in time for the afternoon session, allowing the FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championship pilots to fly their second programme, the first Compulsory Unknown!

The Advanced pilots then began their third programme in the evening, with flying continuing tomorrow.

SAFETY FIRST 🙌🏼

At the FAI Junior Paragliding World Championship in Kruševo, safety was at the heart of every decision.

Experienced launch teams, mountain rescue, medical support, reliable live tracking and detailed pilot briefings helped keep pilots safe from takeoff to landing. Tasks were stopped whenever conditions became questionable. The result? Zero accidents 🙏🏼

Friday brought a busy day of flying, with both the Unlimited and Advanced pilots taking to the air. Both classes have now completed their first runs 🔥🔥🔥

In the Unlimited Championship, Germany’s Wolfgang Schieck takes the provisional lead, while Romania’s Raul Petrovan tops the Advanced Championship after the first Free Known Sequence.

With strong winds forecast for Saturday morning, pilots will be grounded for the first part of the day, with flying scheduled to resume in the afternoon.

A new generation of champions has taken flight!

The 2nd FAI Junior World Paragliding Championships have come to a close in Kruševo, North Macedonia, after a week of challenging conditions, close competition and unforgettable moments.

With 49 young pilots from 13 countries competing across seven tasks, the championship showcased not only skill and determination, but also the friendship, fun and fair competition that make air sports so special.

A strong first day in the sky! 🔥

The 27th FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championship and 15th FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championship got off to a great start today, with flying continuing throughout the day in excellent conditions!☀️

Pilots performed their first competition sequences above the spectacular scenery of the Var region in south-east France, putting precision, control and energy management to the test from the very first flights.

With similar weather forecast for tomorrow, another full day of World Championship action lies ahead!🔥
