And that's our first training day in Bobbahn Altenberg. 🤩🛷

With the seventh races of the 2025/2026 season, the IBSF Bobsleigh + Skeleton World Cup will come to a close in Altenberg (16–18 January). 🇩🇪

Tension levels could not be higher ahead of the finals. As well as the crystal trophies to be awarded to winners and runners-up in the overall World Cup standings, the event will also be the final chance for athletes to rank and collect points for qualifications for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina. Three weeks ahead of the opening to the Winter Games in Italy, the IBSF - International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation will also be crowning the first ever overall winners of the Skeleton Mixed Team discipline in Altenberg. The skeleton team event will make is debut appearance at Olympic level during the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games. 🛷

Altenberg traditionally expects large crowds at the track on all race days. On Friday, athletes and organisers are looking forward to welcoming 1,500 schoolchildren to the track as part of “School Day”, who are invited to learn about the sport up close and cheer on the skeleton athletes.
