Successful conclusion of the first coaching courses of 2026 ✅

14 coaches from India and one from Chinese Taipei attended the World Archery Level 2 course in Lausanne.

Practical, hands-on and interactive, the course received very positive feedback from participants.

Ganesh Vishwakarma, one of the participants, gifted a bow he made to the World Archery Centre. It is a traditional Indian bow made of bamboo and used at the grassroots level by thousands of archers across India. The bow was presented to World Archery's head of development, Siret Luik, and will now be on display for all visitors.

Coaching courses resume in October, with activities running until the end of 2026. See all dates and register now at https://www.worldarcherycentre.org/en/education.

70 meters… But no wind! 🤩

During the winter months the competition distance is only 18 meters. However, as spring comes and archers start getting ready for the longer distances outdoors, the Double 720 Indoor Challenge brings the best of both worlds. No wind, no changing conditions. Just pure precision at the longest distances. It's you against your own limits.

You missed it? Don't worry! Each year we host this unique competition to make the transition from indoor to outdoor. The Double 720 Indoor Challenge will be back in late March 2027.

But the outdoor season is now on and from April until September you can shoot several competitions here at our centre, on Wednesday afternoons. More info soon at https://www.worldarcherycentre.org/en.

Certified Level 1 coaches 🇮🇳🙌🏼

What a week it’s been for 26 coaches from India successfully completing World Archery’s entry-level curriculum. It was five days packed with practical activities and discussions on how to teach beginners. The newly-certified coaches go back to their clubs ready to apply the latest standards on technique, basic physical preparation, equipment and approach towards novices.

This shows the Archery Association of India’s strong commitment to coaching education, the basis of a solid archery community.

The course also served as recertification for coach trainers Carlos Freitas (Portugal) and Christos Karmiris (Greece), who now can deliver the updated program around the world.

The next Coaching Course Level 1 runs 5-9 October and you can register now at https://www.worldarcherycentre.org/en/event-details/coaching-course-level-1-2.

A masterclass in precision!

It was a weekend entirely dedicated to compound archery where coach of the French national team, Sébastien Brasseur, shared his extensive knowledge and experience.

The weekend started with an engaging conversation with World Archery Champion Nicolas Girard, with him answering every question the participants had. From technical refinements and equipment insights to competitive mindset, archers and coaches alike walked away with the tools needed to take their shooting to the next level.

Missed it? Don't worry! Another Compound Masterclass is planned for the second half of the year (and in English!). Stay tuned for more details and registration dates coming soon.

Head coach Marc Dellenbach is temporarily stepping away from his role at the World Archery Excellence Centre to lead the Mexican team through the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle.

In the past year he worked with the Mexican women's team—especially two-time Olympic medalist Alejandra Valencia—during their training stints in Lausanne.

For the next two and a half years Marc won't be completely away, though. The plan is for our centre to serve as the training ground for the Mexican squad whenever they're in Europe ahead of or in between competitions across the continent.

We look forward to welcoming Marc back to his full-time role as our facility's head coach following the 2028 Games. In the meantime, we wish him success taking up this new challenge!

Last week in Guatemala City, 30 coaches representing 12 countries from across the Americas joined us for a World Archery Coaching Course Level 3. Led by head coach Marc Dellenbach and coach Bernardo Oliveira, the week was dedicated to high-performance in archery through classroom theory and practical range activities.

A highlight was the final day, which focused entirely on compound archery—a first for such a course. This session was conducted by Jeff Greer, an expert appointed by the Archery Trade Association, and the reception was very positive.

This initiative was made possible through the primary funding of Panam Sports and the organizational support of World Archery Americas. We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to the Archery Association of Guatemala for being such incredible hosts and making every participant feel at home.

Three exercises in one single tool. 🏹

The new 3-in-1 grip has made its debut in Guatemala, at a World Archery Coaching Course Level 3. Each participant is bringing home one set to start using with their athletes straight away.

The red, shorter supports are for lateral planks, a great exercise for building specific strength. 💪🏼 The teal, longer ones, for practicing elbow rotation against a wall. 🔄 And the clips for elastic tubes allow for the ex*****on of an entire shot cycle. All while practicing proper hand placement on the bow grip. 🌟 The goal is to make learning archery easier and more effective.

The 3-in-1 grips are 3D printed with great finish and will soon be available at the World Archery shop. Stay tuned.
