Headquartered in Pully, Switzerland -- just outside Olympic Capital Lausanne -- the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) is the world governing body for baseball and softball. WBSC has 206 National Federation and Associate Members in countries and territories across Asia, Africa, Americas, Europe and Oceania, which represent a united baseball/softball sports movement that encompasses over

65 million athletes and attracts approximately 150 million fans to stadiums worldwide annually. The WBSC governs all international competitions involving official National Teams. The WBSC oversees the Softball World Championships (Men, Women, U-15 Women, U-18 Men and Women and U-23 Men), Premier12, World Baseball Classic, and Baseball World Cups (U-12, U-15, U-18, U-23 and Women's).

🇯🇵🏆 In 2023, Japan punched their ticket to the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals 2024, where they successfully defended their title to become World Champions for the seventh consecutive time.
Now, Madonna Japan will look to create another ticket-punch moment at the WBSC/RAXUS Women’s Baseball World Cup Group Tainan 2026 supported by CTBC, opening on 23 August, as they begin their quest to defend the world title once again.

🇲🇽 Mexico's Majo Valenzuela: "I've taught my teammates how to talk to me"
Born in Hermosillo in 1997, Majo has played for the Águila Veracruz since the Mexican Softball League (LMS) inaugural season. She represented Mexico at the WBSC U-19 Women's Softball World Cup 2015, the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Finals 2024 and, more recently, at the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group Rockford 2026 presented by RAXUS.

During the Women's Baseball World Cup Group Rockford, the WBSC had a chance to sit with the international baseball and softball player who was born deaf. Valenzuela (left in the cover photo) responded through her captain, Daniela Leal (right), who learned sign language to communicate with her.
