I’m a mountain professional & endurance athlete based in the Swiss Alps, working worldwide.

There’s a story behind these photographs that has very little to do with the rough sea or the birds.

Before this Arctic voyage ⛴️ , I made myself a promise: I wouldn’t compromise my health. And I did.

Working as a photographer on an expedition ship is demanding; no time off between and after the morning and afternoon operations, high expectations (I put on myself), unexpected wildlife encounters and stunning sunsets that stretch out an already very long day, and working right up until the very last minute of the voyage. These are all the things I LOVE and ENJOY.

But for the last 9 nights, I barely slept in the cabin. I kept pushing through because I care deeply about what I do.

I suppose being an endurance athlete has its advantages: all those years of teaching my body and mind to keep moving when you don’t have much left in the tank.. 😮‍💨😅

Behind the photographs and the adventures, there’s also a real life. I think that’s worth sharing too.

The tank is currently being refilled as we sail back towards Greenland.. ☺️

Greenland puts everything into perspective… 🤍

Somewhere in between Svalbard and Greenland, after a 19 hour drive back from London to the Swiss Alps, I sat down with Perrin from Great Big Photography World for a conversation I REALLY loved.

We talked about being a guide and photographer and show those roles constantly shape each other.

Working in remote places and how I use my camera to share stories about the environment I care so deeply about. 🗻🧊

I’m a very practical person so there’s plenty of real world photography tips and tricks in there. 🤓

The podcast is now live. 🎙️If you’re stuck in traffic or out for a walk, give it a listen.

Just enough time to empty and recharge the batteries at home 🏔️🇨🇭🥰

Next stop: Greenland.

Happy Swiss National Day. 🇨🇭

I was going to write something romantic about Switzerland... but the truth is, I came here for one reason:

The mountains.

They’ve shaped my life, my career and so many of my happiest memories.

I can’t imagine calling anywhere else home at the moment.. ❤️

I think I was born with the wrong internal thermostat...🧊
I’m convinced my DNA contains at least 3% glacier by now! 😅

Heart filled with joy for having this extraordinary landscape on my doorstep in the Swiss Alps.

Morteratsch always leaves me smiling... and a little heartbroken, too. 🧊💧

It’s strange how a place can become part of you…🥹🩵

🎥 This is where it all began…🗻

Last July, we stood in front of Piz Palü, chasing the first scenes of a story we knew we had to tell.

As trail runners, hikers, mountaineers and photographers, we watch glacial retreat accelerating year after year…🥺

This project aims to blend the athleticism of mountain running with the journey of the water from summit to valley.
A metaphor for flow. 💦

Roberto and I have been back in the mountains and I couldn’t be more excited to dive back into this project.

🎙️ Back in March, during my winter season in St. Moritz, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Empowering Women in Industry Podcast host Shannon from the US to record an episode.

Since our chat I’ve been back in Svalbard twice; skiing, guiding, photographing wildlife, driving Zodiacs, standing polar bear watch and continuing to build a career that combines my greatest passions: mountains, polar regions and storytelling.

I’m incredibly grateful to work in an industry where women have come such a long way. Every year I meet inspiring women pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world’s wildest places.

We’ve made remarkable progress but we are not finished yet…😉

Let’s continue challenging expectations and encouraging the next generation of women and everyone who identifies as a woman to step into the outdoors, exploration and adventure with confidence.

Most importantly, let’s keep lifting each other up. Every opportunity shared and every door held open makes a difference. I really strongly believe when one woman succeeds, it creates possibilities for others to follow. ✨

Thank you to Empowering Women In Industry ♾ for the opportunity to share my story. 💝

📀 you can listen to this episode on their website or stream from Apple Podcast, iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher or TuneIn.
