HISTORY IS MADE!
The Rugby Europe Sevens Championships came to a close today and the Women made history for the second tournament in a row.
After an all tike high finish of 5th in Hamburg, they went one better in Split and made the semi finals for the first time in history. What an achievement! Their 4th place in Split was enough for them to finish 6th in the overall standings.
Coming into Split, the Men knew they had a chance to take the European Championships following their victory in Hamburg. Unfortunately, that dream came to a close in a tight quarter-final defeat by Italy. Their 7th place finish means they slipped to 4th in the overall standing.
Time, at last, for the players to enjoy a summer break!
