Im Rahmen des internationalen Bike Messenger Film Festivals laden wir ein, um gemeinsam in unserer Zentrale das diesjährige kuratierte Programm an Kurzfilmen anzuschauen.
Von nostalgischen Dokumentarfilmen aus Kyoto bis zu musikalischen Porträts einzelner Kurier*innen, es gibt verschiedene Eindrücke aus der internationalen Kurier*innen Community.
Ab 18:30 Uhr gibt es Getränke und Snacks, das Film-Programm beginnt um 20:30 Uhr.
Bringt Kissen & Decken mit damit es kuschelig und warm wird, 🫀

SCREENING "FROM SCRATCH" & OTHER STORIES on the 14th Febuary at the Ultrakurier Dispatch (Binzstrasse 12).

We are so excited to have Claire Tayler .tour present her documentary short film "From Scratch" and 6 other shorts in Zurich!
Claire is a bike messenger with and film maker based in Berlin.
'From Scratch' is a 17 minute short that follows bike messenger Eui Ho Kim around Seoul, talking about what it's like to be one of the only bike messengers in South Korea. After returning from Japan inspired by the Tokyo messenger world, he talks about his experiences starting 'Gig Courier': a bike messenger company in a country that doesn't have bike messengers.
The 1 hour of short films travels through the cycling scene in Seoul: we meet one of a handful of frame builders in South Korea; two bike shop owners - one importing hand-built steel frames from around the world, and one talking about how 'steel is real' becomes 'the past is the key to the future', as it translates in Korean; one BMX enthusiast, one bicycle cafe owner, keen on growing bike culture in all its forms; and one parts importer, all talking about their different projects and experiences of cycling in Seoul.
They're less high-octane messenger riding, but more honest and open videos, about people's enthusiasm and challenges in the bike scene, as they grow it powered by hope, and a lot of love and enthusiasm.
Alongside the film, there will be a small exhibition of photos taken of the individuals in the films and their spaces, and around Seoul, and some Gig Courier zines for sale.
