You don’t have to eat mustard on its own 🥵
Use it as a sauce with eggs, meat, vegetables, potatoes, sandwiches, salads or any meal that needs more flavour 😋
And the best part? You can easily make it yourself.
Homemade spicy mustard:
• 50 g mustard powder
• around 30 ml cold water
• around 30 ml pickle brine
How to make it:
1. Mix the mustard powder with the cold water.
2. Add the pickle brine and mix again.
3. Adjust the consistency to your preference.
4. Cover and leave it at cool room temperature for around 10 hours so the flavour and consistency can develop. Stir again and refrigerate.
(Less liquid makes it thicker and more liquid makes it smoother and thinner)
Mustard seeds naturally contain glucosinolates. When the powder is mixed with water, these can form pungent compounds called isothiocyanates.
Mustard has traditionally been used to support:
• digestion
• circulation
• metabolism
• antimicrobial
• anti-inflammatory
This doesn’t make mustard a medicine, but it does make it an interesting natural condiment that can add flavour and beneficial plant compounds to your meals.
Simple ingredients. Intense flavour. No unnecessary additives.
