The historic debut of Surfing in the Olympics through the path of the Technical Director!

A few weeks back we made our first trip ever to Chile!!!
✅🔥🌀❤️🌲🌊🇨🇱
As the Technical Director of the Pan American Games (the Olympics of the Americas) for Surfing, we were there with the ISA Delegation to inspect and approve the famous iconic location of Chilean Surfing, Punta de Lobos!!!
👏👏👏👏👏
The event will be held across seven days and host Shortboard, Longboard, SUP Surf, and SUP Race. The Men and Women Shortboard divisions will also be a qualifying event giving the winner of each gender a slot at the Paris 2024 Olympics to be held in Teahupoo!!!
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
The trip was a complete success with a direct inspection of the venue and a cold first-hand visit to the lineup resulting in one of the longest lefts we have ever surfed followed by two days of logistical meetings in the capital city of Sántiago!!
👍👍👍👍👍
We are already looking forward to our return for another possible inspection and of course running the event in October of 2023!!!
🤙🤙

A few photos from Day 3 of Olympic Surfing.
🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀
Taking the Olympic style across all sports, athletes were introduced live on the Olympic Broadcast between heats, something never done previously at a professional surf event especially one at the highest level.
⏳🧭⏱⏲⏰⌛️
Planning the gap time of 10 minutes between the heats of Round 1 and Round 2, and 6 minutes between Round 3, Quarters, and the Semis, and then back to 10 for the Bronze and Gold Matches was immensely complicated. Then trying to figure how to divide the time amongst everything necessary for the broadcast, the athletes, and the judges, and then hope there was still enough time to paddle out depending on conditions.
🤯🤨😜😬😁
Heading into the start of the Olympics, the length of the gap times was no longer negotiable, and when it got big on Day 3 the athletes were not only surfing but they were running too...
🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️
