Here are few things worth remembering when that happens:
○ Raise the alarm first
○ Only tackle a small fire, with your exit behind you
○ Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep
○ Never use water on electrical or oil fires

Quick question: if a fire started at your workplace right now, would you know which
extinguisher to grab?

Our team was at Cemencam in Yaoundé for basic firefighting training and We went to them, so the
whole session happened at their own workplace

The Cemencam team got to see the different types of handheld portable extinguishers up
close, especially powder and CO2. Our instructors demonstrated first. Then the Cemencam
employees took over and practised it themselves, with our instructors guiding them.

Seeing it done is one thing. Doing it with your own hands is what makes it stick

Quick one from the field with our team.

We just trained 10+ workers from GLOBELEQ in Douala on work and rescue at height at their base.

Here's what I keep coming back to. Knowing how to work up high safely is one thing. Knowing how to get a colleague down when something goes wrong is another.
A crew needs both, and that's what this training is about.

Confused about BOSIET vs HUET? You're not the only one. This actually comes up alot with our clients.

Here's the short version: HUET is one piece of BOSIET, not a separate thing you're choosing between. HUET certifies you for helicopter travel to and from a platform. BOSIET covers that plus three other safety modules, and it's what most offshore legislation actually requires. But if you only need the helicopter piece, standalone HUET is bookable on its own too with no need to pay for the full course if your role doesn't call for it.

The real question isn't which one is "better." It's which one matches the job you're actually doing.

We have trained over 283 workers from SNH and MINMIDT at our Cape Limboh centre through BOSIET, the basic offshore safety certificate required before anyone can work offshore.

That's not a small number, especially with BOSIET capped at 16 people per session. A national hydrocarbons corporation doesn't send that many workers through, batch after batch, without checking a centre out first. When they do, that tells you more than any testimonial we could put on this page. It also answers something a lot of you have probably wondered quietly: can a Central African centre actually run that many consecutive sessions back to back, without anyone flying abroad? We did a full rotation, accommodation sorted before day one, no gaps between batches.

If you've been assuming the only real option was training outside the region, this says otherwise.

Avant de grimper, prenez quelques secondes pour inspecter votre équipement de protection antichute :

1. Vérifiez votre mousqueton — Est-il endommagé ? Le doigt se ferme-t-il et se verrouille-t-il correctement ?

2. Inspectez votre longe — Recherchez les coupures, les effilochages, les brûlures, les dommages chimiques ou les coutures abîmées.

3. Vérifiez vos connexions — Assurez-vous que votre équipement est correctement connecté, compatible et bien verrouillé.

🚨Rappel :Si votre équipement est endommagé ou douteux, **NE L'UTILISEZ PAS.

Quelques secondes de vérification peuvent éviter une chute aux conséquences dramatiques.

SAFETY MONDAY | BEFORE YOU CLIMB, CHECK YOUR GEAR!

Scaffolding work starts before your first step. 🏗️

Before climbing, take a few seconds to inspect your fall-protection equipment:
1. Check your carabiner— Is it damaged? Does the gate close and lock properly?

2. Inspect your lanyard — Look for cuts, fraying, burns, chemical damage, or damaged stitching.

3. Check your connections — Make sure your equipment is correctly connected, compatible, and securely locked.

🚨Remember: If your gear is damaged or questionable, DO NOT USE IT.

A few seconds of checking can prevent a life-changing fall.
