⚾📐 BASEBALL FIELD (DIAMOND) LAYOUT – OFFICIAL MEASUREMENTS & STRUCTURE GUIDE

A baseball field, also known as the “diamond,” is built with precise official measurements that define fair play, positioning, and gameplay structure. This guide explains the full layout of a standard baseball field in a clear and professional format. 🏟️⚾

📏 MAIN FIELD DIMENSIONS

💎 90 FEET BETWEEN BASES
Each base is spaced 90 feet apart: Home → First → Second → Third → Home. This creates the classic diamond shape of the field.

📐 127 FT 3-3/8 IN (DIAGONAL DISTANCE)
The distance from Third Base to First Base (and also Home Plate to Second Base) forms the infield diagonal across the diamond.

🎯 60 FT 6 IN – PITCHING DISTANCE
The official distance from the Pitching Rubber to Home Plate. This is one of the most important standardized measurements in baseball.

🌱 95 FT RADIUS – GRASS LINE

The Tee Power Rotation Drill is a professional baseball hitting exercise designed to develop explosive power, improve swing timing, and increase bat speed. The drill begins with a strong athletic stance, keeping the feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and the bat positioned above the shoulder. This balanced setup creates a solid foundation for the swing. 🏟️💪

Next, move into the load position by taking a small stride, shifting weight onto the back leg, moving the hands back, and staying balanced while keeping your eyes on the ball. This loading phase stores energy and prepares the body for a powerful swing. 👀⚖️🏏

As the swing begins, step forward in a controlled manner, transferring weight toward the pitcher while maintaining balance and proper timing. The forward stride helps create momentum and allows the hitter to generate more force. 👟➡️⚡

• Place 4 cones in a square formation
• Keep cones approximately 6–8 feet apart
• Player starts in the center athletic position

CNOSC 😭😭😭

COMMUNIQUÉ OFFICIEL

Le Comité National Olympique et Sportif du Cameroun (CNOSC) a la profonde douleur d’annoncer le décès du Colonel Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, Président du CNOSC, survenu le 13 mai 2026 à Yaoundé.

Figure majeure du mouvement sportif africain et international, il laisse l’héritage d’un engagement exceptionnel au service du sport et de l’idéal olympique.

Le CNOSC adresse ses sincères condoléances à sa famille, à ses proches ainsi qu’à toute la communauté sportive.

Carnet noir : le colonel Hamad Kalkaba Malboum s’en est allé

Le Cameroun sportif perd l’une de ses figures les plus influentes. Le colonel Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, président du Comité national olympique et sportif du Cameroun (CNOSC), président de la Confédération africaine d’athlétisme et membre du Comité international olympique (CIO), est décédé.
Né le 11 novembre 1950 à Kawadji, près de Kousséri, cet officier supérieur à la retraite aura marqué, pendant plus de trois décennies, l’histoire du sport camerounais et africain. Ancien athlète, spécialiste du sprint et du saut en longueur dans les années 1970, il avait très tôt compris que l’avenir du sport africain se jouait aussi dans les instances de décision.
À la tête du CNOSC depuis 1998, il a porté haut les couleurs du Cameroun dans les grandes arènes olympiques et contribué à renforcer la présence africaine dans la gouvernance sportive mondiale. Président de la Confédération africaine d’athlétisme depuis 2003, plusieurs fois réélu, il était devenu l’un des dirigeants sportifs les plus écoutés du continent.
Homme de réseaux, bâtisseur discret mais redoutablement efficace, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum avait également présidé le Conseil international du sport militaire et œuvré à l'introduction de nouvelles disciplines au Cameroun, notamment le baseball et le softbal.
En octobre 2024, il avait encore été porté à la tête de la nouvelle Confédération africaine des sports olympiques (CASOL), preuve de l’influence intacte de celui que beaucoup considéraient comme l’un des derniers grands stratèges du mouvement sportif africain.
Au-delà du dirigeant, plusieurs proches évoquent un homme passionné de culture et de musique, qui avait même enregistré quelques chansons dans sa jeunesse. Une facette méconnue d’un personnage aux multiples vies.
Avec sa disparition, le Cameroun perd un monument du sport, une mémoire institutionnelle et un artisan majeur du rayonnement olympique africain.
