OSMA SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE AFRICAN JUDO UNION
On the 7th of September 2025 in Port Louis, Mauritius, the Organisation of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA), represented by its President Major General Abdullahi Maikano(Nigeria), signed a cooperation agreement between the African Judo Union (AJU), represented by their president, Mr Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, on the sidelines of the African Judo Championships. The OSMA President has scored another milestone agreement with AJU as the Military version of this championship will henceforth be handled by OSMA, contributing to the organisation’s visibility on the continental and global scene.

CISM GRAND CORDON CONFERRED TO HER EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT OF TANZANIA.
The OSMA President, Major General MAIKANO ABDULLAHI, in his role as the CISM Vice-President for Africa awarded the highest and prestigious CISM distinction (The Grand Cordon) to H.E. Madam SAMIA SULUHU HASSAN, President of the Republic of Tanzania in a solemn and high military traditional ceremony. This was in recognition of the interest and commitment she has shown in the promotion and development of Military Sports in Africa and the ideals it conveys. This ceremony was attended by high profile and top-ranking military officers of the Tanzanian Peoples Defence Forces.

OSMA PRESIDENT ON A WORKING VISIT TO CONAKRY, REPUBLIC OF GUINEA
In a relentless quest to give OSMA more visibility around the continent and beyond, the OSMA President and CISM Vice-President for Africa, Major General MAIKANO Abdullahi, was on a working visit to Conakry, the capital of the Republic of Guinea. This follows the working visit he paid to Equatorial Guinea, where he had fruitful talks with the High Military Authorities in view of organising the next CAMFOOT in 2026.
This time around, the African Military Basketball Championship (CAMBASKET) will likely be held in Conakry, Republic of Guinea, as filtered from his talks with the Chief of Army Staff of the Republic of Guinea this afternoon. During this working visit, the OSMA President will also create awareness of OSMA and the ideals it stands for: “Friendship through Sports.”

WORKING VISIT OF THE OSMA EXECUTIVE TO MALABO, EQUATORIAL GUINEA.
The OSMA President and CISM Vice-President for Africa, Major General MAIKANO Abdullahi (Nigeria), accompanied by the OSMA Secretary General, Capitaine de Frigate DJENDOLA Pierre (Cameroon), paid a working visit to some top government officials of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. The purpose of the visit was to discuss with the Equatorial Guinean military authorities the possibility of hosting the 9th African Military Football Championship in Malabo in 2027.
The OSMA executive were warmly welcomed in Malabo, and the authorities showed tremendous interest in hosting the 9th edition of CAMFOOT. The OSMA President and the Secretary General were also received in audience by the Minister of Defence, the Minister of Sports, and the Chief of Defence Staff of the Equatorial Guinean Armed Forces. During their talks, it was evident that Equatorial Guinea is set and ready to host this event in 2027. The OSMA Executive also took time to visit some sporting infrastructure in the city of Malabo that will eventually host the competition.
What is certain is that the CAMFOOT will be hosted by Equatorial Guinea, with the OSMA Delegation headed by the able Chief Delegate, Brigadier General Miguel NGUEMA NDONG OBONO.

THE 3RD AFRICAN MILITARY GAMES IN ETHIOPIA 2027
The OSMA President Major General MAIKANO ABDULLAHI was received at the Ethiopian Défense Headquarters in Addis Ababa for a Working Visit ahead of the 3rd African Military Games which will be hosted by the Ethiopian Delegation in 2027. This visit took place on the sideline of the Meeting of the African Union Technical Committee on Sports for Development which was holding in Addis Ababba from 4th to 7th March 2025. The talks centred on adequate preparations and setting up a preparatory commission for the upcoming AMGA. The OSMA President was satisfied with the talks and the quality of reception that he was reserved. General Nuru the Ethiopian Chief Delegate to OSMA assured the President that the games will be hosted come 2027

The African Military games inters the fifth day of play with a majority of sports discipline drawing towards the end. The closing ceremony is scheduled for Saturday 30th November 2024. As its stands Nigeria is toping the medals table with Algeria following closely. Highlights of the day two to 4th are portrayed by the photos below

DAY ONE OF THE 2ND MILITARY GAMES ABUJA 2024
Day one of the African Military Games in Abuja had on its Agenda two fooball matches. The first opening match was between Cameroon and Nigeria a tough match with ended win a Cameroon win during the prolongation 1-0. The second match was between Algeria and Equatorial Guinea. Algeria out maneuvered the Guinean team by trashing the 2-0. Today we have somany games on the agenda like, taekwondo, Basketball, Boxing etc.

OPENING CEREMONY OF THE AFRICAN MILITARY GAMES AMGA 2024 ABUJA
The Organisation Of Military Sport In Africa entrusted the hosting of the 2nd African Military Games to Nigeria who scheduled the games to begin from the 18th to the 30th of November 2024.
The opening ceremony of the games were organized this day the 20th of November 2024 in the Mushod Abiola National Stadium in grandiose style. Nigeria the true giant of Africa took up the challenge and decided to treat the visiting delegations to never seen festivities. The ceremony was spiced by a lot choreography and traditional dances which blended the diverse cultures of Nigeria into one package. After the beautiful and flamboyant dances, the state was set for the military march pass which showcase all the participatin countries and their flags. Speeches were delivered by a host of dignitaries and officials who each welcomed all the African countries to Nigeria and called on the athletes to be discipline and compete in fair play inorder promote the values of OSMA stands to promote friendship through sports. Among the Speakers were the Chief Delegate of Nigeria who made the opening Speech, followed by the OSMA President, The Chief of Defence Staff and the representive of the His Exellency the President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
The competitions starts tomorrow with boxing and Taekwondo on the Agenda.
