Celebrating and Empowering Young Girls on International Women’s Day

On International Women’s Day (March 8, 2026), AJC Nkambe organized a meaningful program to educate, encourage, and empower young girls in our community.

A total of 56 participants attended, including 48 young girls who were the focus of the event. Each girl benefited from individual counselling and HIV testing, alongside informative sessions on:

• Understanding My Body: The beauty and meaning of the menstrual cycle
• Dignity During My Period: Practicing proper menstrual hygiene
• Protecting My Future: Making wise choices about relationships and sexual health

The girls were also encouraged through the Word of God, reminding them of their value, dignity, and purpose.

At the end of the program, each girl received a gift of sanitary pads, helping them maintain confidence and proper menstrual hygiene.

The smiles and appreciation from the participants showed how impactful the program was. It was a wonderful way to celebrate International Women’s Day while promoting the health, dignity, and well-being of young girls in our community.

We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to making this initiative a success. Together, we continue to invest in the future of our girls and our community.
