ODISHA’S PRIDE PRAMOD BHAGAT ONCE AGAIN SHINES ON THE GLOBAL STAGE WITH A HISTORIC DOUBLE TRIUMPH IN BAHRAIN.

Odisha’s para badminton icon Pramod Bhagat scripted history at the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 in Bahrain with a sensational double gold medal performance.

In the Men’s Singles SL3 final, Bhagat defeated Indonesia’s Muhammad Al Imran 21–12, 21–18 to claim his sixth World Championship gold and his fourth consecutive title, surpassing Lin Dan’s record of five men’s singles world titles. His singles victories came in 2009, 2015, 2019, 2022, 2024, and 2026, cementing his dominance in the SL3 category.

Bhagat’s golden streak extended to the Men’s Doubles SL3–SL4, where he teamed up with Sukant Kadam to defeat Jagadesh Dilli and Naveen Sivakumar 21–19, 21–16, adding a second medal to his haul.

The double triumph reaffirms Bhagat’s status as one of the greatest para badminton players in history, highlighting his years of discipline, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to representing India and Odisha on the world stage.
