Our sticks meet. Our friendship grows. 🇵🇭🤝🇨🇳

Another round of Balintawak Eskrima in Beijing with Yuli and Bertram—sharing skills, building trust, and giving our reflexes a very serious workout! 😄🥢

This is why I share Arnis de Mano, also known as Eskrima, here in China.
Every training session is a chance to introduce a piece of Filipino heritage, learn from one another, and build friendships through a shared passion.

You learn to listen, respect your partner, and help each other improve.
Between the AGAK and the laughter, people from different backgrounds discover how much they have in common.

For me, that is cultural understanding in action.

And it is the heart of my personal advocacy: friendship, camaraderie, and stronger connections through Arnis/Eskrima.

🇵🇭 TWO STICKS. TWO FRIENDS. ONE FILIPINO WARRIOR SPIRIT! 🥢💥🇨🇳

Who says Filipino culture can’t make some noise in Beijing? 😎

Here’s Yuli and me exchanging strikes, testing our timing, sharpening our reflexes, and having a good time practicing De Campo 123 Orihinal Arnis de Mano—one of the treasured fighting systems of the Philippines!

No fancy moves. No Hollywood choreography. Just distance, timing, precision, and a little friendly stick diplomacy! 😁💪

For me, sharing Arnis de Mano, also known as Eskrima, is about much more than learning how to wield a stick.

It’s about sharing Filipino heritage, building friendships, and bringing two cultures closer together—one strike, one lesson, and one friendship at a time.

After all, Arnis is one of the greatest cultural contributions of the Filipino people to the world. And there’s no better way to keep that heritage alive than to share it beyond our shores.

🇵🇭🇨🇳 Filipino sticks. Chinese friends. A shared story.
Every time I pick up my baston here in Beijing, I carry a piece of home. ❤️
My mission in China is to share Filipino culture through Arnis de Mano, also known as Eskrima—what I proudly consider the greatest cultural contribution of the Filipino to the world.
Each lesson shares our discipline, creativity, resilience, and respect. And somewhere between the footwork, the strikes, and the occasional “let’s try that again,” strangers become training partners—and training partners become friends. 😄
Here, we practise Largo Mano, drawing from the lessons of De Campo 123 Orihinal. The distance between our sticks matters. So does the friendship growing between us.
My hope is that these encounters inspire more Chinese friends to discover the Philippines, meet our people, experience our culture, and explore opportunities together. Cultural understanding can open doors to travel, business, and livelihoods that benefit both peoples.
