Happy weekend!✨

I am now 11 days post knee surgery!🥳 Recovery is actually going really well but every now and again I need to remind myself that I need to take it easy and not overdo it.
I have only been doing my Physio exercises up to now but today I will be starting some upper body and core strength training. My wounds are now fully closed so sweating is no longer a problem!😅💦

I do have some muscle loss in my surgery leg which is normal. And for the next 2 to 3 months I will not be able to really load my quad muscles with squats and lunges etc due to the microfracture that was done. But once I am cleared I will build these babies back up!😁💪🏻

I am worried but also carefully optimistic that the surgery will be a success and that I will grow some beautiful new cartilage in the next few months.🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I will keep you posted on my progress. And if anyone had a similar surgery/procedure done, please do share your experience! I would love to hear from you!

Also if you know of any good upper body and core workouts that can be done seated, let me know! I do have a few from that I will be trying.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!💕

Feeling all the feelings at the moment.

Grateful that my surgery went well today
Hopeful that it will be successful and will recover fully
Sad that I will probably have to give up running
Nervous for the recovery that lies ahead
Relieved that it is not too serious, could have been worse

They found a full depth articular cartilage defect on my patella. Dr did a patellafemoral microfracture to promote new cartilage growth. Also injected Synvisc gel. Now we hope for the best.🤞🏻

PS. Obviously Two Oceans and Comrades are no longer in the cards for me.😭 This was my life long dream! But that is life, now I need to pivot. Maybe I will take up cycling.🤷🏼‍♀️

Happy 2026 everyone!
Better late than never!
May this year be prosperous and good to you!

I am starting this year in a bit of a funk. I have not been posting much because to be honest I have been feeling a little stuck and I haven’t made progress in any part of my life this past few months. 2025 did not go as I planned or hoped. My 2026 Two Oceans Ultra Marathon dream went out the window when I injured my knee. I am still not able to run, it’s been about 9 weeks since my last run. I am even struggling with normal exercise, my knee is really hampering all my movement. And rehab feels like it is taking forever, and I am not the most patient person. I also gained about 4kg over these 9 weeks because I was just not active enough, this naturally makes me a bit depressed.

So in a nutshell, the year didn’t really start like I would’ve wanted but that is life! Even with all of this I still have so much to be grateful for. Now I have to pivot, I have to set new goals and focus on recovery and rebuilding strength and fitness. I also need to focus on getting my business up and running. Let’s go 2026!!

So if you are also in a not so great place and you don’t really feel excited for the new year, just know that you are not alone! I am right there with you, but together we can get through this and help each other reach our goals!

What are your goals for this year? No matter how big or how small, I’m here for it!

Remember, small habit changes goes a long way. Consistency is what counts. Start small and be consistent and you will reap the benefits.

Here are some of the habits I want to work on in 2026:
1. Get at least 10000 steps per day
2. Drink more water
3. Listen to my body and rest when I need to
4. Practice mindfulness and breathing daily
5. Focus on healthy eating, making sure my body gets everything it needs to be healthy
6. Prioritise sleep

These are just a few, what is on your list?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!💕

Happy Monday!!☀️

So yesterday I did a 30min easy run on the treadmill to see how my hip is doing. Hip felt fairly good, it is still a bit swollen. After my run I wanted to do a bit of strength training and then this little gem from came in very handy! It was the perfect little add on to get a full body workout and it was hip friendly (low impact)!😁

Swipe to see the details.

Have a great week everyone!

Amazing Product Alert! 🚨

I have been meaning to post this for a while and never seem to find the time. I wanted to make a nice video but I decided sharing the product is more important than making the perfect video. So here we go!

I was introduced to Vitant - Skincare by my friend and the founder/creator of Vitant, Joan Van Wyngaard. I have been using good skincare products but the routines were sometimes complicated and the products expensive and a bit harsh on my skin. I started using Vitant two months ago and I am completely in love with it!

The routine is simple and it is so affordable as well! And the best thing of all is how amazing my skin looks and feels!

I truly love all the products but the one that really amazes me is the Skinsmart Daycream. It is a day cream with SPF protection as well as retinol for anti-aging! So a 3-in-1! And since I am spending more time outside running, this is my new best friend!

To read more about these amazing products, visit their website https://vitant.co.za/

If you are looking for skincare that is simple to use, affordable and gives real results then I highly recommend Vitant!

Road to Two Oceans Marathon 2026 update

After being sick I was set back by almost 4 weeks with my training plan. I made great progress the last 3 weeks and was feeling really good but I knew it was never going to be smooth sailing!

On Monday my right hip was hurting a little after my run. On Tuesday I had to do Intervals with full sprints. My hip felt good during my warm up run and the first 3 sprints was really good but on the 4th one my hip said NO MORE!

It was really sore and I struggled to walk. Luckily my physiotherapist says it only looks like a strained gluteus medius muscle so nothing too serious and I should be able to slowly get back to running within the next few days.

My hip is swollen quite a bit but already feeling much better. Hopefully this will not set me back too far. What I learned from this experience is that I should listen to my body and rest and recover when it is telling me to. Will not be making this mistake again.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
