We are fortunate to live in paradise and, above all, to be able to contribute to its care. The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is not only a unique and irreplaceable natural complex in the world—being the highest coastal mountain range, independent of the Andes mountain chain—but it's also an ancestral territory, home to ancient knowledge held by four indigenous ethnic groups who safeguard it.
The footprints of their ancestors are etched into the land, and even the stones remind us that this place is sacred! ⛰️✨️

We are a reserve, a home, and a refuge for the fauna of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta⛰️.
Jaguars, cougars, ocelots, tapirs and bears roam through our mountains, while hundreds of birds adorn our skies with their colors.
The flagship animal of the Sierra is the jaguar. Its presence is an indicator that the ecosystem is healthy🐆.
Taking care of this place brings the satisfaction of doing things well and contributing to the future health of our planet💪🏾❤️🔥.

Balance, unity, integrity.
Our name pays tribute to this land and its essence, deeply intertwined with the ancestral wisdom of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta⛰️.
For the indigenous arhuacos, 'Ati' means air and 'Kana' represents soil; and it is at their meeting point where life begins:
As the air absorbs enough moisture from the soil, transforming it into water, the earth in turn captures it to nurture the land with life.
ATINKANA means LIFE ♥️.

At the Heart of the World, we cultivate the medicine of the heart♥️.
From Colombia to the world as an example of real regenerative Agri-Culture. Our cacao grows in soils that are recovering after being deforestated. Abandoned and eroded pastures, once, are today transitory edible forest that pay by themselves for its own regeneration💪🏾.

WE ARE NEWS IN :
From Sierra Nevada to the world! ⛰️
After living in Switzerland for 15 years, ._, a biological anthropologist from Bogotá, returned to the country and, seven years ago, purchased a 120-hectare farm on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada, a place that, despite its potential, had been affected by years of poor practices.
"Five minutes after shaking hands with the seller to greet him, I felt like I belonged there," explains Flórez, after which he embarked on a process of regenerating the area that led him to explore new ways of conceiving agriculture with a less immediate vision, focused on future benefits.
The answer came hand in hand with coffee, one of the most traded commodities after oil and one of the most popular beverages in the world.
Located between 500 and 1400 meters above sea level in the tropical forest, Atinkana () has become a hydrological and agroforestry reserve that, seven years later, has recovered 55 hectares of land, generates between 30 and 50 jobs during the harvesting months, and impacts about 40 families, making it the largest employer in the Piedras River basin, which provides water to 50% of the population of Santa Marta.

After harvesting, the coffee arrives at the collection center to be processed. This coffee is called 'cherry coffee'.
There the shell is removed, it is fermented, dried, roasted and ground.
We use the cherry peel to compost the soil and thus nourish the new coffee plants, and start the cycle again🍒.
At Atinkana we take care of every part of the process. Our goal is the health of the soul and the soil of this Sierra Nevada🏔.
