I’ve sifted through the raunchy, rotten, and rad rubble of my life and somehow come out the other side bolder, louder, and a hell of a lot less interested in pretending I have it all figured out.
Before any of this, I spent 11 years working in television. Then I did the full Eat, Pray, Love thing: sold everything I owned, became a yoga teacher and raw vegan chef, moved to Costa Rica, birthed both of my kids there, and eventually found myself deep inside the plant medicine and retreat world.
Some of that chapter changed my life.
Some of it also taught me, very clearly, what happens when spirituality becomes an identity, an industry, or an excuse to stop asking hard questions.
I’ve spent a LOT of my life healing from trauma. Addiction. Eating disorders. Abuse. The patterns that made me fawn, stay quiet, make myself smaller, or play the “good girl” even while covered in tattoos and dropping F-bombs.
And somewhere along the way I realized something:
All the healing in the world will not improve your life if you don’t actually f**king LIVE it.
I’m nearly 46 now, perimenopausal, far less interested in extremes, and much more interested in nuance.
I believe spirituality matters deeply. I also don’t believe the goal is to ascend so far above our humanity that we stop giving a s**t about what is happening to actual human beings.
I believe in breathwork because it is one of the most powerful tools I’ve experienced for coming back to yourself. No special altar required. No guru holding your answers. You already have the instrument with you.
And that is really what my work has always been about, whether I was teaching yoga, talking about food, facilitating breathwork, or sitting in circle with women:
bringing you back to the truth of who you are.
Not who you were told to be.
Not who you had to become to stay safe.
Not the shiny, spiritual, healed-enough version.
🦋YOU.
Messy. Powerful. Human. And if there is one thing I know now, it’s that my power lives in my voice.
📣So I’m using the damn thing.
