Canadian winters were killing my soul, so I started going to Costa Rica 🥶👉☀️

I posted a video about leaving Canada for Costa Rica and it went viral.

the most common question I got was “What do you do for work?”

So here’s the honest answer:

I starting creating content in my parents basement 7 years ago and tried tons of businesses

Now, I have a digital marketing agency where I do social media marketing for companies.

Not because I had some master plan but because I wanted three things: to provide real value, to earn a living, and to have the freedom to live wherever I want.

I’m not gonna flex like I’m making millions. I’m not. I probably earn something close to what you do.

But I built my business in a way that only requires me to be in Canada a few months a year.

The rest of the time? Costa Rica and other places around the world for the last 5 years

I’m not special. I’m not different from you.

I’m just proof that a regular person can build something real using social media and actually design their life around it.

I think working remote and traveling is glamorized on social media

I lived the digital nomad life for a few years and honestly, what I didn’t see coming was how much I’d miss a sense of community & genuine connection

It made me reevaluate what I truly wanted out of life and what my values were and the biggest mission I went on this past year was finding a place I can call home & finding my people 🙏 definitley found it here in Calgary

I came here for the mountains but I fell in love with the city and the people!

How do you find your people in Calgary?

I’ll be super honest with you, when I moved from Winnipeg to the Blue Sky City 4 years ago, I didn’t know anyone.

I had to figure out how I could connect with people here and build relationships.

That’s when I started researching networking events in Calgary.

I started showing up to different events and community meet ups, and things really started to click for me here.

I started meeting some awesome people.

People from all over the world doing cool things and building businesses too.

I realized…

Calgary is where my people are.

We’re all searching for the same thing: community, connection, and belonging.

It’s a big city with a small town feel.

Friendly faces. Open minds. People who actually want to connect.

Now, this place feels like home.

My advice is to start showing up to community events.

There’s something happening here every day.
