Horseback riding adventures on the beach and in the jungles surrounding Montezuma The Indiana Horse Project is just that, an evolving project with horses.

I'm, Deanne the owner, and it's named after my daughter, Indiana who is now 25 and the best guide we have! I came here more than 27 years ago and fell in love with the natural beauty of Montezuma and the freedom of riding and living with the horses in such a natural way. We've done all kinds of things over the years taking travelers on amazing rides; sunset rides, moonlight rides, wild untouched beach rides, mountain\farm\river rides, waterfall rides, local kid's riding groups, overnight rides, several day rides, swimming with the horses in the ocean or rivers, community riding... What I mostly love and want to share with those who come to ride with us is an amazing experience with a horse...integrated in the beautiful nature we live in. It something incredibly real, that many people have never experienced. The beauty and connection of feeling the horse you are riding !

I’ve been on a long journey to get my horses out of steel shoes and keep them working comfortably

We have been able to manage that well in the dry season, but in the rainy season it’s so wet their feet are soft and get sore.

So a few years back I started incorporating Cavallo boots. Honestly it was a pain… figuring out sizing, getting them in to Costa Rica, the cost since I’ve got 15 horses.

In the beginning just putting them on took forever😫

But now we have a pretty good system. They all work in boots except one, miss Luz, who refuses. Luckily she has the best feet on the planet and doesnt really need them.

So this lengthy video is a little glimpse of getting boots on a horse for the Saturday morning kids class. It’s 2.5 minutes so I’ve greatly reduced my time. In the beginning I swear it took 30 minutes and I was soaking sweaty wet 😆💦

Almost 2 weeks work getting them here! Thank to to Dianne and Pascal for all the support and Rigo for the blood sweat and tears 🤣 ok no tears… blood and sweat yes
