Every month, we’ve been introducing a theme at Rockstar Yoga to weave together each of our practices 🙏🏼

This month, we’re talking about Pratyahara. The fifth limb of yoga, which is an 8-limb path.

Pratyahara means withdrawal of the senses... but not in the way that sounds. It’s not shutting off. It’s not checking out.

The oldest image for it comes from the Bhagavad Gita: a turtle, pulling its limbs into its shell. Not because the world outside is dangerous. Because the turtle decides when to engage and when not to. Its senses still work perfectly fine. It’s just chosen, on purpose, not to hand them over to everything demanding a reaction.
