Kayla Laughs Out Loud Mystery Shopping

Apparently, I’m a “terrible person” who needs to “get a real job.” 😳😂

Yep. Someone actually emailed me that because I openly say I ENJOY mystery shopping. According to them, that must mean I enjoy getting employees in trouble.

Except… that’s not why I do this at all.

I found an opportunity that works for my lifestyle, and I genuinely enjoy helping businesses see what the customer experience actually looks like when management isn’t standing there watching.

Mystery shopping isn’t about trying to “catch” someone doing something wrong. It’s about feedback. It helps companies recognize what they’re doing RIGHT and where there may be opportunities to improve.

And sometimes, yes, an employee simply may not be the right fit for a position. That doesn’t make them a bad person. It means the company has an opportunity to find someone who is a great fit and can help that business grow.

As for finding a “real job”… 😂 I think I’ll keep the one that works for me.

I’ve been thinking about getting a pair of Meta glasses or something similar, but I need opinions from people who have actually used them!

When they first came out, I wasn’t sold because that little blue recording light was basically screaming:

🚨 HELLO EVERYONE, I AM RECORDING RIGHT NOW. 🚨 😂

And obviously… discreet matters for what I do. 👀

So I need the tea:

👓 What brand do you have?
❤️ What do you LOVE about them?
😬 What do you HATE about them?
🎥 How good is the video and audio?
🔋 How’s the battery life?
👀 And most importantly… how noticeable are they when recording?

Meta? Ray-Ban? Something else I don’t even know about?

I went to Costco… but I wasn’t just there for the $1.50 hot dog. 😂🌭

I was on a mystery shopping mission! 🕵️‍♀️

This assignment had me checking out the sample stations throughout the store. Were the employees friendly? Were the samples ready? Did they actually engage with customers? 👀

Basically, I got to wander around Costco, eat samples, and get PAID to pay attention. 😂

And THIS is why I keep telling y’all… mystery shopping is so much more than pretending to buy something at a store. There are all kinds of assignments out there, and some of them are honestly pretty fun.

🚨 WELL… THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY. 😂🥪

I walked into Substation II for a mystery shop, and everything started off GREAT. Friendly service, normal sandwich shop vibes… I thought, “Okay, this one is going to be easy.”

And then things got weird. 👀

Then they got weirder.

And somehow… they just KEPT. GETTING. WEIRDER. 😂😭

I swear, mystery shopping will have you thinking you’re just going to evaluate a sandwich, and suddenly you’re standing there wondering, “How did we even get here?!” 🤣

Watch until the end because this one took a TURN.

Sub Station II

Last mystery shop of the day! 🛒💚 Ending my route at Whole Foods!

This one took me less than 10 minutes and paid $15. 🙌

But after running around mystery shopping all day, I made one critical mistake… I walked into Whole Foods HUNGRY. 😂

So naturally, $8 of that $15 went straight to pizza. 🍕🤣

But hey, a girl’s gotta eat! And the way I see it, I still walked away with free pizza AND $7 left over. Not a bad way to end the day!

This is exactly why I love mystery shopping. Some days it helps cover meals, some days it helps with bills, and sometimes I’m putting it toward something fun I want.
