Knowledge That Inspires
On Sunday, 24 May, the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade provided a fitting setting for the award ceremony honouring the most successful students at the National-Level Foreign Language Competitions, organised by the Association for Foreign Languages and Literatures of Serbia.
Among the finest young language learners in Serbia were students from our school, who represented it with distinction through their knowledge, dedication, and genuine love of learning. We are especially proud of Ana Ljubičić and Viktor Luka Krčevinac, who claimed 1st place at the National-Level English Language Competition in the Special Category.
But this ceremony was far more than a diploma presentation. It was a true celebration of youth, of language, and of the joy of learning – a day filled with smiles, pride, and inspiring encounters among students whose hard work and determination push boundaries and prove that perseverance pays off.
Ana’s and Viktor’s achievements remind us that curiosity, persistence, and a love of learning are the values that lead to outstanding results. Their success stands as an inspiration to all our students to explore, learn, and develop their talents with enthusiasm.
Congratulations to Ana and Viktor on this exceptional achievement. May there be many more opportunities ahead for them to turn their knowledge into new accomplishments!

Trabalenguas
On Friday, May 22, the Instituto Cervantes in Belgrade hosted the Trabalenguas competition, a Spanish tongue-twister pronunciation contest.
The competition was organized in three categories. The first category included younger primary school students, who performed tongue twisters in a non-competitive, exhibition format. The second category was intended for older primary school students, who were randomly assigned tongue twisters. Their performances were evaluated based on pronunciation accuracy and fluency. The third category consisted of secondary school students, whose task was more complex. Working in teams, they created their own tongue twisters, which were assessed according to criteria such as creativity, innovation, linguistic accuracy, and coherence.
The competition was first established in 2018 as a volunteer initiative of the Association of Spanish Language Teachers of Serbia, the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade, and the Instituto Cervantes. This year’s jury consisted of Faculty of Philology professors Ana Jovanović and Ivana Vučina Simović, as well as Ana Regiljo, Head of Studies at the Instituto Cervantes.
Our student, Vukašin Ivanović from Grade 6, earned first place in the second competition category thanks to his impeccable pronunciation, excellent command of Spanish prosody, and remarkable composure. ¡Enhorabuena, Vukašin!

Trabalenguas
