Danas mojoj školi je bila velika čast da nastupa na festivalu epske fantastike u MTS Dvorani 🔥🙏🏽

Festival je stvarno predivan 🤩

Moja učenica Anja Gretić je istoričarka po struci, ona je spremila najzanimljivije predavanje o Hinduizmu i ljudi su baš oduševili 🙌🏼🕉️

Na početku sam izvadila ples o Hanumanu a na kraju predavanja moja učenica i ja smo zajedno plesale Guru Vandana i tehnički teentaal. I to je tek početak za našu novu plesnu sezonu 💃🏽

A short excerpt of a technical dance sequence (nritya) set to Japtaal (a 10-beat rhythm) 💃🥁

It begins with tatkar, followed by a tihai and chakkars 🔄
Next comes a Natvari tukra and a tora featuring nine spins, concluding with a three-step sequence 💫✨

I originally learned this choreography back in 2017 from my guru ji Ashwani Nigam and was delighted to perform it in 2024 🎭
Since the full composition runs for over five minutes, I plan to share a few more interesting segments—such as the opening Shiva Vandana (“Om Namah Shivaya”)—whenever possible 🕉🙏

One of the most important steps before you start dancing is warming up your entire body 🧑🏽‍🩰

Here is a look at a warm-up routine for Kathak 🙌🏼
We focus on the *ang*, *pratyang*, and *upang* (major, intermediate, and minor body parts).

We begin with the limbs, starting with the feet—performing rotations and stretches 👣
Then, we move upward to warm up the knees, again using rotations and stretches🦵🏽
Next come the hip joints, torso, shoulders, and arms 💪🏼

Special attention is paid to the wrists, as they form the foundation of all arm movements in Kathak—particularly in the Lucknow gharana style 🫷🏽

Finally, we warm up the neck and head with side-to-side rotations, lateral movements, and so on. We repeat the movements four times on each side 👤

This warm-up takes just five minutes, yet it is incredibly effective at preparing the body for the physical demands of the dance 💃🏽

Ганеш Чатуртхи 🐘

Рођендан Бога мудрости и обиља Ганеша Чатурти (Ganesh Chaturthi / Vinayaka Chaturthi) са људским телом и главом слона — онога који уклања препреке, сина Шиве и његове супруге Парвати.

Ганеш је један од најпоштованијих богова хиндуистичког пантеона. Сваки нови почетак прати молитва Ганешу: „Ом Ганешаја нама“.

Празник Ганеша Чатурти симболизује добар знак.

На овај дан упућују се молитве Ганешу, приносе му се воће, млеко, цвеће и слаткиши, а испред лика Бога разбијају се кокосови ораси.

У неким деловима земље (на пример, у Махараштри и Тамилнадуу) за овај дан се од сирове глине праве нове статуе Ганеша. Након молитви, приношења дарова и кратке церемоније опраштања, старе статуе се потапају у воду река, језера и других водених површина.

Рођење Ганеша Чатурти обележава се широм Индије. Посебно свечано и радосно слави се у савезној држави Махараштри. Овај празник такође симболизује почетак низа празника посвећених другим хиндуистским божанствима.
