9th Sabac Open Taekwondo 2022

We are just over one week away from the competition! Our venue for this year is the second biggest indoor arena in the country and is quite spectacular! It has hosted Euro Basketball Championships in 2005, European Handball Championships in 2012 and many major international sporting and music events.

This is important for 2 reasons - we can easily fit 10+ courts in the arena to meet the demand which has been fantastic, but also have lots of space for spectators and competitors to ensure full compliance with COVID regulations.

We’ve been busy preparing our event and are very happy that there is such big interest in our competition so far!

We’ve been receiving lots of questions from our guest clubs and thought it would be worthwhile to share the answers to some frequently asked ones with all of you:

Q: Do the athletes need a GAL license and do coaches need the International coaching license to participate?
A: No, we do not require either of those for participation.
Q: Can an athlete enter both Poomsae and Kyorugi events?
A: Yes, that is possible 😃
Q: Do we have to pay the entry fee when registering via tkd-reg.com?
A: No, entry fees are paid upon arrival when registering/weighing in your team. Payment is also possible via club account as stated on the invite.

Ok, let's get the COVID-19 information out of the way and then we can focus on the fun stuff. Below is a summary of some key information, but for further details you should access the official link from the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs attached.

So, currently the following lucky countries can enter Serbia without any COVID-19 requirements:

-Bulgaria
-Bosnia and Herzegovina
-Hungary
-North Macedonia
-Albania
-Montenegro

For all other foreign citizens, you will need ONE of the following options:

-a negative RT-PCR test
-a recognised vaccination for everyone over 12 years of age
-a valid certificate of overcome COVID-19 disease no older than 6 months.

Citizens of Slovenia have some extra options available so please read the information in the link provided if you are a Slovenian citizen.
