Kite Downwind - Cape Verde

With a purpose - our goal is to collect at least 12.000€ for a local kindergarten.

The annual Kite Downwind from Sal to Boavista on Cape Verde is a extreme sports event crossing 75km+ trough the open atlantic ocean using only a Kite and Surfboard.

For no reason and without a proper justification the IMP opens only the main beaches of Boa Vista.

Those beaches will accomodate large groups of people and will certainly be difficult to keep under control in terms of Social distancing.

All the beaches that us surfers are using are closed!

This is not acceptable. We have tried to communicate with the authorities and set up responsible guidelines to practice watersports.

Documents where presented.
Watersports dont promote spread of the covid19.
Other countries have understood this.

We did not receive a response on our documents!

This is discrimantion towards a relatively small surfing scene here on Boa Vista.

We are disgusted by this behaviour!

KITE DOWNWIND 2020!

Its done :) All the riders are save and happy. Here some impressions from today.
