Generational influences are undoubtedly one of the most significant phenomena impacting our workforce. After all, this is the first time in history we have seen this many generations (4-5) working together and occupying positions not according to the age hierarchy.

Even though there is much beauty in this expanded collaboration in the workforce, the huge generational mix is causing more havoc than anything.

Why, you may ask?

Because even though we share cultures, languages, food, blood, and a piece of land in common, the generations all experienced different imprinting, shaping the way each of them perceives the world through their values, motivation and priorities, view of authority, attitudes, communication, and learning.

Simply said, all generations have a different world view.

The problem is not that the generations have a different perception and ex*****on of what they think is essential in the workforce. However, it becomes a considerable challenge, often to the detriment of departments and sometimes entire organizations, when the generations need help understanding, accepting, and seeing one another.

See, we walk through life perceiving the world through our lenses and the story we tell ourselves about others and the world. However, while doing so, we can only see what is outside of us. But please be assured that this baggage is there with you always, very present indeed, and it controls how you show up in life.

Therefore, that annoying colleague is more valuable than you thought. In fact, this person is holding the key to your personal growth. Because this person obliges you to feel the emotional baggage you've gathered throughout life that you wouldn't allow yourself to feel willingly.

And no, I'm not talking about the kind of 'emotional intelligence' where you just suppress your emotions and create havoc in your body, which turns into illnesses for the sake of your job. I am talking about mastering the ability to manage and understand your emotions and those of the people around you.

Remember how easy it was to navigate through life when you were little? Learning new information fast and creating new experiences with ease?

Well, that is because we navigate through life with complete brain coherence for the first seven years of our lives. After this age, we enter into what we call BRAIN DOMINANCE. Brain dominance means we approach most situations using only one side of the brain.

Allow me to enlighten you on HOW YOUR BRAIN THINKS. 🧠

First of all, allow me to clarify. We all have a complete brain in our scull. However, this machine called the brain is sectioned into two hemispheres: your right brain and your left brain. These two sides of the brain think & learn differently and have two personalities. 🤯

Your right brain is your emotional and creative brain. It likes to experience each moment & sensation individually. It favors fresh ideas and uniqueness, tends to look at the bigger picture, and sees the world as whole.

Your left brain is your logical brain. This brain analyzes all data and picks out everything in detail. It stores all the data in a logical order of past, present, and future. Your left brain enjoys and favors things that are familiar and known, and therefore it repackages and generalizes everything in the familiar known. Here is where you hear the little voice that compares you to the rest of the world. This hemisphere creates a concept of self and keeps you in this model.

That said, both sides of the brain are necessary to handle your daily tasks. Using only one side of the brain is like swimming without using your arms. You go in circles!!!!!!!😞

Unfortunately, this is the reality for most people.

The good news is you can take control to prevent it from running on default.
This is critical as your subconscious mind learns faster when the two hemispheres are synched. This is when you can change limited beliefs by creating new connections in your brain that support the new reality you want to manifest. 🤩
