Windsurfing is one of those sports that only takes a day or two to learn the basics, but multiple years to become an expert at. In fact, one of the most common questions from beginners who want to learn the sport is “How hard is it to do?”

The answer to this question really depends on what your personal aspiration is with the sport. If you want just want to go out for a weekend and enjoy a solid windsurfing outing for a couple of hours, that is perfectly doable. However, if you want to develop into a full fledged expert level windsurfer, it will take a considerable amount of years to attain this goal.

A lot of people can train on the weekend for back-to-back days of practice and others for consecutive days.

There is no event quite like the Defi Wind.

This year, the challenge was back on for nearly 1300 windsurfers at Gruissan, France. One of the biggest reunions in the history of windsurfing just happened in the month of May. After years of no large scale windsurfing events, the 2022 edition of the Defi Wind hit the nail on the head. Nearly 1300 windsurfers had signed up to participate in the race, and many more joined, just to enjoy the atmosphere and reconnect with friends from around the world.

Gruissan delivered the near-perfect wind forest and across the four event days, there was some breathtaking scenes of the enormous rabbit start, as well as, racing action.

Anywhere along the ten kilometer long stretch, that had to be covered four times, there were action and battles to be found. Whether you’ve had this experience before or not, the experience is equally thrilling; an absolute must for any windsurfer in the world to experience.

Kids windsurfing lessons 🤙

We love teaching kids to windsurf! Coaching them one-to-one, is essential to give them time to learn the parts of the equipment and how the sail works. Later on getting in a group of like minded kids, not only makes the whole experience more fun, but the kids can work together as a team and learn from each other.
