Blood Donation Initiative at Open Sports Festival 2026

Most companies end a corporate sports day with photos. The good ones end it with data.

A well-run sports day is an investment in engagement, retention and employer brand and like any investment, it deserves a number attached to it. The problem is that most teams measure the wrong thing: attendance on the day, and a general sense that it went well.

These five KPIs give you something more useful: a before-and-after picture of participation, connection, sentiment, behaviour and reach. None of them require a new platform. Four of them require one extra question in a survey you're already sending.

A sixth, for the CFO in the room: cost per actively engaged employee. Total event spend ÷ employees who participated. It reframes the conversation from expense to investment and it's usually a far better number than people expect.
