Not everyone knows this....
..but yoga was never just about asana.
Sometimes yoga looks like kindness.
Sometimes letting go.
Sometimes staying with an idea for years. Or choosing to be present instead checking socials.
Together with our teacher Sasha, we’ve been reflecting on what yoga looks like off the mat.

"Why do I feel emotional after yoga?"
Sometimes it's tears. Sometimes just a strange quiet — like something shifted.
Here's why.
The body doesn't just hold tension in muscles. It holds it in the nervous system, in the breath, in the connective tissue. And certain poses — especially deep hip openers — access the hip flexors and psoas, areas where the body tends to store chronic stress and unprocessed emotion. When you slow down and breathe into those places, something releases. It has a name — somatic release — and it's at the core of body-oriented therapy.
Yoga doesn't create the emotion. It just creates the conditions for it to move.
If you've ever left class feeling quietly undone — that's not a side effect. That's the work!
