AC Omonia Nicosia was founded on 4 June 1948.

Βy far the most popular athletic club in Cyprus, followed by more than 30% of the island’s population. One of the most successful football clubs with 20 championship titles, 14 cup titles and 16 super cups. Maintains departments for several sports including basketball, volleyball, cycling, futsal and women's football. The slogan of AC Omonia Nicosia is "ΟΜΟΝΟΙΑ Αιώνια", which is in the Greek language and means Omonia will live forever.
