Prague Hibernians Hurling & Camogie

This weekend we host Hibernians Hurling & Camogie for our third and final pre-season friendly of 2026.
This will be great preparation before we start to plan our trip to Eindhoven for the opening round of the Gaelic Games Europe hurling championship.

Looking forward to a great game and hoping there will be plenty in attendance to cheer on both teams!

This year we were delighted to feature on the Sport u Otavy podcast with Pavel Pechoušek to talk about Gaelic Games and specifically hurling.

We discussed the foundation of the club, the friendship/rivalry with Prague Hibernians Hurling & Camogie, our involvment with Gaelic Games Europe , our encounters with Naomh Gall CLG in Ireland and the introduction of handball to the club.

Tournament week! 🇳🇱🇨🇿

It's been a tough year for the Pipers given this year's tournament locations, but this weekend we'll finally get out and competing at the GGE hurling finals in Eindhoven ⚾🏑

Hats off to the lads willing to travel to play our wonderful sport, we're sure they'll do us proud 👏

It wasn't to be this weekend for the All-Czech Pipers who put in an inspired effort against Prague's more experienced Hibernians.

The Hibs built a good lead in the first half, yet despite an opportunistic flurry of goals at the beginning of the second half from Prague's Michal Venos, the pipers fought their way back.

Particularly special offensive inputs from came from Jakub Kortus, Michal Předota and of course club celebrity; Filip Šperl. However, goals from Kortus, Šperl and Martin Nejedlý were not enough to turn the tide and the Prague Hibernians were comfortably over the line by the final whistle.

A special mention is set aside for three players who made their hurling debuts in this game: Michal Mařik, Jakub Škoda and Jan Kozák.
