The ICC Women’s T20I Tri-Series was held in Walferdange from 12–14 September 2025, with Luxembourg hosting the national women’s teams of Switzerland and Austria at the Pierre Werner Cricket Ground. Despite persistent rain throughout the weekend, all fixtures were completed, and the tournament delivered exciting cricket and historic moments for the host nation.
Switzerland Women were crowned tournament champions, with Luxembourg finishing as runners-up. Over the three days, several individual performances stood out: Meghna Rajan (Switzerland) was twice named Player of the Match and went on to claim both Best Batter and Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. Priya Sabu (Austria), Andrea-Mae Zepeda (Austria), and Georgia Brealey (Luxembourg) each earned Player of the Match honours in their respective games. Parinitha Mundra (Switzerland) was recognised as Best Bowler, while Anisha Nookala (Austria) received the award for Best Fielder.
The closing ceremony was attended by François Sauber, Mayor of Walferdange, together with Madhu Ramachandran, Chairman of the Luxembourg Cricket Federation, and representatives of Apex Luxembourg — Kavitha Ramachandran, Regional COO, and Pierre Wiemerkirsch, Regional Head. As proud sponsors of women’s cricket in Luxembourg, their presence added distinction to the awards presentation and the felicitation of the players.
The Luxembourg Cricket Federation and Luxembourg Women’s Cricket warmly thank the Commune of Walferdange and the Optimists Cricket Club for their invaluable support in preparing the ground and assisting with logistics. The Federation also extends its gratitude to all players, coaches, umpires, scorers, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters whose contributions made this first ICC Women’s Tri-Series on Luxembourg soil a memorable success.

The 19th edition of the LCF Junior Academy Week concluded on a high last week at the Pierre Warner Cricket Ground, with 40 eager young players gathering for a 5-day festival of cricket. Under the expert guidance of Coach Will Cope and Coach AJ from the Cheshire Cricket Board (UK), the participants honed their batting, bowling, and fielding techniques through engaging drills and match play.
Following Friday’s finale featured matches, the presentation ceremony recognised individual achievements and teamwork.
Coach AJ remarked, “It’s fantastic to see such enthusiasm and growth—these young cricketers keep developing each year, and their passion is contagious.” Coach AJ added, “The commitment from everyone involved made this week special. Luxembourg’s cricketing community is growing, and it’s a joy to be invited over to part of it once again.”
LCF thanks the Lead Coaches, Volunteer team comprising of our U19s, and Optimists Cricket Club for their generous support and use of the pavilion and grounds throughout the week!
