"The art of medicine is amusing the patient while nature cures the disease."
~ Voltaire
As a yoga therapist, people sometimes come to me hoping I'll fix their pain. And while I absolutely believe the right movement, breath, education and support can make an enormous difference, the real miracle worker is the body itself.
Our bodies are constantly repairing, adapting and finding their way back towards balance. We don't have to force healing. More often, we need to create the right conditions for it, which is where yoga therapy comes in.
It's not about pushing through pain or chasing the latest miracle cure. It's about calming an overprotective nervous system, moving in ways that feel safe, rebuilding strength and confidence, improving how we breathe, and gently helping the body remember what it already knows how to do.
Healing isn't always quick, and it rarely follows a straight line. But when we stop fighting our bodies and start working with them instead, something beautiful often happens.
We often ask, "How do I fix this?" when perhaps we should be asking "How can I support my body's incredible capacity to heal?"
Your body is wiser than you might think. Sometimes it just needs a little kindness, a little patience... and perhaps a yoga mat.

Here's a little bit of Summer science...
Our bodies are wonderfully adaptable (yay!)
The good news? They adapt when we move.
The slightly less good news? They also adapt when we don't.
After just a few weeks of being less active, we can start to lose a little muscle strength and mobility 😬 Things that felt easy in June suddenly feel... a bit creakier in September.
(we all know that first-yoga-class-after-the-holidays feeling)
The good news is that it doesn't take much to stop that happening.
You don't need an hour-long workout, to be dripping with sweat. You don't need your watch to tell you you've smashed a workout.
Even 10–15 minutes of stretching and gentle movement a few times a week is enough to remind your muscles and joints, "Yep... we're still doing this."
Cue: my Summer Bundle - a bunch of shorter classes where you won't even feel like you're exercising - just a pleasant roll around on the floor, a little dance on your feet, and the reward of a delicious sleepy relaxation at the end.
Enough to keep your body and mind happy.
Enough to help you arrive in September feeling like you've had a holiday... without your hips wondering what on earth happened over the last eight weeks 💫

Halfway through Summer already... how did that happen? 🌻
Maybe, like me, your days have become a little less organised. You're not quite sure what day it is, or where your shoes are. Your good intentions of "I'll do a bit of yoga everyday!" seem...unlikely.
But it's OK. You don't need to dive back into hour-long classes to feel the difference. Instead, dive into my Summer Holiday Bundle, which perfectly bridges the gap between "I can't be bothered to move off the sofa" and "OK maybe a little stretch would be nice"
✨ Inside you'll find:
• 4 short, feel-good yoga classes (plus a bonus one because I couldn't help myself)
• Practices between 10 and 30 minutes
• Perfect for mornings, evenings, or squeezing in between Summer adventures
• Mix and match two classes if you fancy something longer
• Unlimited access for the rest of the Summer (actually till mid-September)
A little movement goes a surprisingly long way. Your back will thank you, your neck will no longer feel like concrete, and you'll arrive in September feeling like you never really lost your rhythm.

All signed up for the September retreat? 🌻
What? Wait... no? 😳
Oh, well then. We need to have a little chat.
Because in just 6 weeks we'll be heading off for a weekend of yoga, sunshine (yes, I have personally requested this from the weather gods), delicious food, relaxation and a little escape from the usual September chaos.
Picture this...
✨ Morning yoga surrounded by nature
✨ A dreamy sound bath to vibrate you into a state of jelly
✨ Long lunches, slow evenings and lots of rolling around on your yoga mat
✨ Chef Michael knee-deep in important retreat menu preparations (deciding which cookies are essential for happiness).
Whether you've been to one of my retreats before or this would be your first, you're very welcome. Come alone, come with a friend, come exactly as you are.
Just come.

Every Summer I have the same grand plans.
This is the year I'll finally sort out that cupboard under the sink, organise the photos on my phone, maybe start reading the books that have been piling up in a tower next to my bed.
And yet, inexplicably, none of it happens. (although I DID manage to clear out my email inbox, SOMEONE GIVE THIS WOMAN A COOKIE)
Anyway, as I was saying, Summer does what Summer does best - it slows us down. We stay up later, eat outside, drink more than is strictly sensible, enjoy one more swim, one more lazy afternoon doing absolutely nothing.
And I say "cheers" to that - because that's exactly what Summer is for.
The only thing I'd encourage you not to completely abandon is giving your body a little love.
Not because you "should". Not because you need to earn your ice cream.
But because after months of sitting at desks, rushing around and carrying the first half of the year on our shoulders, your body deserves the chance to let some of that go.
Twenty minutes. A stretch. A bit of movement. A deep breath - that's often all it takes to feel like you've pressed the reset button.
If you'd like a few easy classes to dip into whenever the mood takes you, my Summer Bundle is waiting for you ⬇️. No schedule. No pressure. Just yoga that fits around your holiday - not the other way round. ☀️

Rushing ✅ Multitasking ✅ Efficient ✅ Busy ✅ Productive ✅
Life goals? 🤔
These days, I hear those words and want to run in the opposite direction. In fact, I have been trying to remove them from my vocabulary altogether, lest I be tempted to jump back on the bandwagon. There was a time when success for me meant lying awake mentally ticking off a completed to-do list, while simultaneously writing the next one.
At a recent seminar, I heard the phrase "rushing is a crime against humanity" and it stopped me in my tracks. I put down my pen and was still. And I reflected, for the first time, on how much we have glorified rushing, excess, beating ourselves to beat the clock.
I was lucky to spend the last few weeks on vacation, the intense heat actively discouraging me from doing anything with speed. Slow, soft, steady became my mantra. And something clicked. Something loosened, softened and I felt soothed, not frazzled. I swear, even my frown lines have disappeared (almost...)
How are you slowing down this Summer? And how does it feel?
For a slow, mindful, caring and deep practice, join me Tuesday lunchtimes in the studio. I promise an hour of perfectly unproductive, inefficient and unrushed you-time. And a forehead perfectly free of worry lines. 😉

Let me guess - it's mid-July, you've already unplugged, maybe shifted into a lower gear and are enjoying the sweet lazier vibes of Summer. Me too! 🏖️
And let me guess again - your yoga practice has slipped a little? That cranky back and those creaky joints are starting to make noise again? How about that annoying knot right in between your shoulder blades (dammit!)?
I've got just the thing that lets you enjoy the slower vibes of Summer AND keep those blissful yoga feels 👇
✨ My Summer Holiday Class Bundle includes:
– 4 shorter, light-hearted yoga classes
– Actually 5, because I included an extra one this time 🎉
– Combine 2 classes for a longer practice, or just take 20 minutes for a reset
– Unlimited access for 6 more glorious weeks

As we've been drifting through these warm summer days, I've been embracing the minimalist lifestyle, starting with my yoga practice. Recently I have been asking myself: How can I do less?
Sounds pretty lazy right? But I like to think of it as economical and efficient. More precisely: How can I give as little as possible, and still get the results? Minimum effort for maximum gain.
Because when we over-exert, and expend unnecessary energy, it tends to manifest as strain, tiredness or stress somewhere we don't need it. And we end up all hot and bothered.
So let's focus on giving everything you need to, and nothing more. And then enjoy the results.
And the best thing? When you conserve your energies and attention, it frees you up to go the extra mile when you need to, when the outcome is really worth it. So invest your energy wisely.
Here's your homework - think about how you can do less right now. And think about what you can invest that saved energy and time in. And let me know what you discover, I'd love to hear 💖
