Dear all, I am planning to ride from Prague to the region of Doksy on the 13th of July and return on the 15th. https://bit.ly/2kG1wrX Would you like to participate? The idea is to enjoy the good weather and use secondary roads. The occasional jump in to the lake is part of the plan. Simple modest accommodation may be on my small humble cottage. To be confirmed. Plenty of space for camping too.

The Elbe Radweg is great all the way from Prague, but the part from Decin onwards is stunning. Good surface, wonderful sights and train stations all the way along in case you’ve had enough or just want to do part of it. If you have time, Koenigstein is well worth a visit.

Just because it’s cold, doesn’t mean you cant ride. What a glorious sunny day!
Another upcoming event - The Author 50 Cesky Raj race. 21/04/2018
It’s for MTB / Trekking bikes (but we imagine cyklocross / gravel would also be fine. The distance is 50km and it’s meant to be a reasonably easy course. More info below.

Another great route to ride - a nice Prague orbital. It works out at about 100Km and is good for road bikes apart from about 3 or 4 sections, each approx 200m in length, where the surface is gravel or just bad, so needs to be ridden slowly on a road bike, or walked. It offers some nice descents and climbs.

Routes to ride: take a train from Prague to Pardubice - there are several routes back for both Mountain and Road bikes. Trains leave from Prague Hlavni Nadrazi regularly, most allow bikes on board - some require a ticket with a reservation (can be bought online on cd.cz or at any ticket window at the station). There are several towns and places to stop on the way and some great scenery.

Another tip for somewhere to ride - Balaton. It's an approximately 200km ride around the whole lake (if you want to do the whole ride) or you can take shorter rides and combine with ferry / train trips.

On the EV7 towards Prague, by the village of Prackovice - The D8 viaduct is in the background, built on "slightly" unstable ground (there has already been one landslide that delayed the motorway opening by over a year).
