Sebring was a tough one this weekend in TC America for Braydon Arthur and Jesse Dorkin in the GR Corollas. We did the best we could, given the tools at our disposal, but it just was not our weekend.
We were mid-pack in Practice 1. Then first and second in Practice 2. In Qualifying, all we had was P5 and P8.
Race 1 saw Jesse as the lone Toyota taking the checkered flag, as Braydon had issues on the first lap and retired the car.
In Race 2, Jesse started in 9th and Braydon started at the back. Braydon was carving through the field when he had unintentional contact with another car, and damaged the front end and radiator, thus causing another retirement.
Thanks to the ever-supportive Toyota crew, for all their help!! It was not the weekend we were hoping for, and certainly not results reflective of our true capabilities, however, we are focusing forward to Road Atlanta in June!

To quote a great band… “Sometimes you are the Louisville Slugger….sometimes you are the ball!”
That summed up the Sebring weekend for the #34 Mercedes-AMG! Strong all weekend, the 34 Car of Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier ran strong every session and took the overall pole in qualifying.
Michai took the start and held strong with the lead! Executing clean pit stops and driver change, they kept a commanding lead until close to the end of the race….
The oil cooler split open and immediately set fire on the headers, causing Mik to have to stop on track and, ultimately, retire from the race.
It was a gut-wrenching parts failure that underminded all the meticulous preparation, driving and pit ex*****on of the team.
Let the sun set on Sebring Raceway….. we will return to Road Atlanta just as strong as always!!!

Podium for the Car 27 Vintage423 Mercedes-AMG in the PRO-AM class! It was a hard fought one for Jason Daskalos and Lorcan Hanafin!
They qualified 3rd, and Jason had an excellent start and took the lead. Jason maintained that pace and brought the car into the pits for a driver change in P1.
Lorcan maintained the lead as well, and increased an already strong gap, until the unfortunate demise of the sister 34 car. Upon the restart, Lorcan unfortunately got pushed off the track by another Mercedes, sending him to 4th place. Due to the penalty applied to the other car, the 27 car gained the 3rd spot.
Although bittersweet when the lead was in hand, the 27 car showed their strength and got their spot on the podium in the end!
On to Road Atlanta!!

It was a strong performance for the 27 Mercedes-AMG of Jason Daskalos and Lorcan Hanafin at COTA! All weekend, they were near the top of the timing charts, and took Pole position for the PRO-AM class.
Jason took the start and drove a fast and clean stint before handing it off to Lorcan. The team executed clean pit stops. Unfortunately, the front splitter got damaged and caused them to ultimately retire the car in the final hour of the race.
Not the result everyone was expecting, but once again, it showed their talent and the team’s potential.
On we go to Sebring for the next round on May 8-9. Adios, Austin!

It was a WIN in PRO class for Mikael Grenier and Michai Stephens today at the CieloVision GT World Texas today! The Number 34 Mercedes-AMG started from Pole position and kept pushing to the end.
Some challenges were thrown at the team throughout the 3 hour race, but through clean pit stops and strong pace on the track, the team made it back up to the front of the field!
We now tip our cowboy hats to Texas, and ride off into the sunset in our Freightliners, heading to Sebring for the next round!
