In May, we spent five days immersed in practice and study, grounded in the teachings of the Bhagavad Gītā and the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali.
It is truly captivating to witness people from different backgrounds, cultures, professions, experiences, and interests come together through a simple common thread: love and respect for the practice, and a shared inquiry into life's deepest questions.
Thank you all for sharing a part of yourselves during these days. Thank you for being mirrors for one another.
A truly inspiring experience. A glimpse of light.
Let's stay connected and continue growing this community together 🤍

We believe a shala comes alive through the people who share their practice within it.
We currently have available time slots in the shala for independent teachers and facilitators who would like to rent the space and host their own classes, workshops, trainings, or gatherings.
If you are looking for a dedicated practice space in Berlin, we'd love to hear from you.
Interested? Send us a DM 🍃

As we move through life, the subject of observation becomes how to remain equally present with what the mind filters as pleasant or unpleasant, beautiful or ugly, success or failure.
We can try noticing in daily life how often the mind follows this pattern, and observe which reactions arise when something is judged as undesirable: perhaps anger, disappointment, or the impulse to escape.
As we watch, we may begin to see how subtle forms of greed unfold within us, the quiet attachments that still seek to gain something, generating tension, aggression, or unrest.
This is the practice: observing without judgment, and gradually reshaping our actions based on this awareness.

Morning and evening Mysore classes continue daily in the shala.
We look forward to practicing together 🤍

Quick reminder for today: Breathe 🤍

A short reminder for today:
True ahiṁsā (non-harming) cannot be forced. Just as we cannot force the body into Padmāsana simply because it is our ideal to sit in that pose, ahiṁsā does not arise from willpower alone.
In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali , suffering is said to begin with avidyā, a fundamental misperception about who we are. Avidyā is the soil of ignorance in which the other kleśas grow:
asmitā (I-am-ness)
rāga (attachment)
dveṣa (aversion)
abhiniveśa (desire for continuity)
From this misperception, we experience ourselves as separate, and from this sense of separation, our actions often create suffering for ourselves and others.
Yoga practice does not try to pretend ahiṁsā. It works to remove the misperception of self that prevents ahiṁsā from arising spontaneously. As the fluctuations of the mind (citta vṛtti) cease (nirodha), perception becomes clearer. So our way of acting naturally changes. If we truly see ourselves in others, how could we hurt another being? It would not be so different from hurting ourselves.
This is why we practice.

It is for you if you are drawn to an authentic, traditional approach to yoga.
No performance, no distraction just the practice itself. 🍃
We teach in the traditional way, individually and one-on-one,
